Stoked to hear about how these are this year! History of tarot esp …. Your list inspired me to add a book of letters or famous diary to my list this year

The tarot one is def a priority! 😍 Yessss, I’ve always wanted to read a letter collection (or diary’s), I think they’re so cool haha 🤓 I hsve Tolkien’s letters which I also haven’t read! I need to get to those.

Trying to catch up on all the historathon videos, sorry I'm so late haha. Glad to see some new topics covered with Mesoamerica and the New World. Definitely something I should branch out into at some point. Great video!

So many wonderful books - Mexican history is so fascinating! I read Cortes' letters last year but didn't enjoy it. The version I read published all of the letters without a narrative thread so I think that's why it was such a difficult read - probably intended for a scholar. I have The Conquest of Mexico by Hugh Thomas and am planning to read it for Historathon. I'm excited but I did hear it was problematic so we'll see what that means. LOL

Haha you’ll find out! 🙈 I haven’t heard of that one… // Yes! That’s the problem with letter collections, I feel that you either need some background context or a specific interest in the person/themes. That’s why I want to finish the conquest book and his biography before reading them. Atleast the conquest book.
