@lisak8492
@lisak8492 4 жыл бұрын
@@xyhanx what I got from it is that Rashek IS the lord ruler, the hero of ages was supposed to save the world from the deepness and be granted a power (that I think might just be allomancy itself) and Rashek got jealous and hated him so he took the power for himself, so that's why he was both a Feruchemist AND an allomancer. And also, what he said to vin, that he is their God whether they want it or not or something like that, I guess by killing him they released the threat of the deepness again and I guess that's what they're going to fight against in the next book (I hope I dont sound dumb and end up being completely wrong)

As a stay at home mom of two little ones, I still have next to no free time, except now we all have cabin fever too! It’s been a little frustrating to hear so many people complaining about how bored they are with soooooo much free time... if I had the opportunity to read all day, I would be THRILLED! It's a very catching cover I literally walked into the book aisle just to read what it was about. My secret Santa that year got it for me ironically

Yay, Astrid Lindgren! Here in Sweden I don't know anyone who doesn't know more or less all of her stories (at least all of the classic ones) but trying to explain her impact to my friends once I moved to England was... difficult ("She's on our money!") Though I definitely do love the classic ones - Pippi, Emil, Barnen i Bullerbyn, Karlsson and so on - my absolute favourites are the ones that not a lot of people have heard of - Allrakäraste syster, Mirabell, Skinn Skeping. I don't know how many of her stories have been translated (most of them, I assume), but I would honestly recommend any and every one of them

Oh, I love Gone With the Wind. And yes, you should definitely read the book first and then watch the movie. The book tells you so much more than the movie (isn't that always the case?) and you get to live that story more deeply. But since I was a preteen when I saw the movie (and fell in love) it wasn't really plausible for me to read the book then. I actually just finished it last month and yes, it did take me ten months. That was my fault, I should've read it in English from the start, but no, I had to try the Finnish translation which sucked!!!!! Mitchell's writing is so alive and vibrant and the translation just... wasn't. Have fun with it.

So I have a the fear of big books as well but I started doing audio and physical read. That way you can do housework or whatever while listening and pick up the book when just chilling around the house! Try that it helps so much you’ll get through it so much faster. Hope that helps

Those Barnes and Noble collectors classics have been under my radar for a while now. I only have the wrinkle in time and Edgar Allan Poe ones, but those fairy tale ones are gorgeous

As for Carry On, it's an amazing book that i do too think you'll love! But the beginning is quite hard to get through, the first 120 pages are kinda boring, but after that it's absoluetly amazing. So if you wanna read that, I would advise to power through the beginning.

Those Fairytales books are stunning ! I have Persuasion and Reaper at the Gates too, I want to read them both but I've read that the latter wis depressing, so I'm a little scared. I hope you end up reading Carry On and Mistborn, I love them both, especially Carry On, I love it so much. I was convinced you had read The Beauty of Darkness. It feels strange having completed a series you haven't because usually I'm always 5 years late lol

Macbeth and Julius Caesar are so good! I've also heard really good things about King Lear and his other historical plays I'm currently making my way through the Game of Thrones books, I finished all 969 pages of the 2nd book earlier this week, took a fantasy break, and I'm going to start the 1200 page 3rd book next week. I love longer fantasy books because I want to dive really deeply into the world, and you don't get to do that as much in shorter books

for Carry On, you have to push through the first 150 pages and then it gets better (basically the book starts the pick up when Baz arrives). I've read the book about 2-3 times and I usually listen to the audiobook for the first 150 and then read the rest physically. The author even admitted that the first 150 were kind of boring but necessary for the story lol
