Thanks Hedda for showing us this beautiful spread. I really enjoyed listening to your opinions about the books. I also re-read books and being much older than you, have read my favourites at least 20 times over the years. This year is my first time keeping track of what I read, it will be interesting. So far I have read (or listened to) 7 books and they are all re-reads, even though my TBR list is long. I call it comfort reading. Enjoy what you are reading now, can’t wait to hear about it.😊

Your videos are always so cozy and so inspiring. Thank you! And it's always gratifying to see the stickers and other pieces from penpal letters. This time there were stickers from my own letter on the double page about books by Sarah J. Maas and it was wow! unexpected and pleasant. 😊 Wish you Happy New Year! 🎄 More inspiration, energy, good books and followers to your channel in coming 2024! ❤

I completely agree with you on the Empyrean series! I looooved Fourth Wing and flew through it and I've been stuck at about a third of the way into Iron Flame having a hard time getting into it. Hopefully I can just power through and finish it before January! Love your reading journal setups as always 😊

I have the opinions on books, was it a good story? If so, the literary qualities aren’t as important to me. The bad reviews stopped me from reading Fourth Wing at first. A co worker convinced me to finally pick it up. I loved it!! I didn’t love Iron Flame. It was a little all over the place for me, and Violet was too whiney. 🌲

My favorite 2023 read out of 38 books is Firekeeper's Daughter by Angeline Boulley. 🌲 I haven't read Rebecca Yarrow's Fourth Wing yet. I've purchased the first two but I'm waiting until more of the series comes out. I hate waiting.

The thing about reading a book for the 2nd time (in my case for the 3rd, 4th, 5th… even 10th time!!!) is that you pick up/out more detail, nuance, thoughts that you didn’t get the first time. I love re-reading my favourite authors. It’s cheaper too!!! You are an inspiration. Thank you for sharing. 🌹Rosie of Oz🇦🇺 & 🐶Omega the Cavalier🐶

I love your Reading video not only for how good the journal looks but also for how you talk about the books you read. It happens that i don't agree with wether i likef or not a book but the way you explain It makes me "chill"... idk how to explain but we have a very similar way of reviewing books as in "i liked It and if someone didn't it doesn't matter" and vice versa, no judging...

It’s a wonderful thing to be able to appreciate other people’s differing opinions without feeling like we need to convince them to think the same as us❤️ I believe books are like any other art - subjective! Whether it’s good or bad is not just dependent on the technical writing skill of the author, but also what the books make us feel, and how we interpret the book and identify with characters and enjoy the story. So I really appreciate your comment, because I absolutely want people to feel at peace with my videos, and feel that my reviews are..hmm.. not pushy? Like I don’t have any desire to push my opinion on a book on someone else😅 I’m not reviewing books for the sake of telling people how to feel about them☺️ It makes me really happy that this is something you like about my videos!❤️

I loved all your spreads in your reading reading journal this month! 🌲 The cover page was so simple and wintery and the Iron Flame spread had such a unique concept to it , so those were my favorites. My favorite book of 2023 was All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr and Beekeeper of Aleppo by Christie Leferty. I hope you have a happy new year by the way!

Hi 👋 Loved the video & also the feedback you give regarding the books you have read. I started my first reading journal, and it’s for 2024, I have been very inspired especially since I don’t see myself as a reader, so I had the best time setting it up, and can’t wait to start as I have already started reading more.

I personally loved Fourth Wing and Iron Flame! The disease that Violet has is real, it’s called Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and Rebecca Yarros and all of her children have it.
@mochibujo11 ай бұрын
Thank you for telling me the name of it! I find it so sad that so many people are bashing the books for having a physically small and “weak” main character when I always read it a real disability. I had no idea Yarros and her children has it, it makes a lot of sense that she would write a heroine who also deals with the same disease☺️

Thank you for the beautiful videos this year. Looking forward to next years. My favourite book of 2024 was The Shadow of the Gods by John Gwynne - it's a 3 POV adventure novel inspired by Norse Mythology. I loved everything about, especially the fact that it has a dragon in the story and can't wait to read the next books in the series. I love the character Orka. I would love to know your opinion, Hedda, if you are interested in reading it. 🌲🌲Happy New Year!!! 🌲🌲

Iron flame was a bit of a let down after fourth wing, but I still really liked it. I find it interesting that you thought the main character was dumb but you enjoy ACOTAR. I realize I am absolutely in a minority, but I felt that Feyre suffered from that fate also. I felt that the supporting characters were what held up the series and maybe that’s what was missing a bit in Iron Flame. We were missing some good support characters. (Please don’t read this as being aggressive about ACOTAR. I still enjoyed parts of that series a lot and it’s why o gave Fourth wing a try which is my book of the year.)
@mochibujo11 ай бұрын
I think that I felt that way about Iron Flame because in Fourth Wing, Violet seems very resourceful to me. She seemed smart and clever and driven, and despite being in a situation where she knew she was an underdog, she persevered and worked around her disadvantages. In Iron Flame she just complains and fight with Xaden, and I feel like the book reduced her character to someone less developed, if that makes sense😅 Feyre was also pretty dense in the beginning, I agree. But I think I’m a bit more forgiving towards her because she was thrown into an entirely new world, she had no education, and did her best despite of it, and had a lot of character development. I feel Violet was put back several steps in Iron Flame, and that made me a bit disappointed, because like I said I thought she was very different in Fourth Wing than in Iron Flame😅 I hope that explains why I felt like she was “dumb” in Iron Flame😆 I totally agree that Iron Flame is missing good support characters!! That’s a very good point I didn’t think about myself. It’s so much “lovers’ quarrel” and so little development of other characters than the main one.
@heathersloane576411 ай бұрын
@@mochibujoI completely understand and agree. She did take steps back where as Feyre did progress (albeit a bit slow for my liking) through the series. And I also agree, the lovers quarrel was very over done. Like we got one of those and that’s fine, but 75% of the book was WAY too much! I am hopeful that the third book will bring Violet back to the Fourth Wing and then grow her further!

I agree Iron Flame wasn’t as good as Fourth Wing but idk I felt all the criticisms about Violet and how dumb she is and how quickly she fell in love with Xaden without actually KNOWING him is pretty realistic. Maybe my friends and I are too delusional but the way Violet was behaving with Xaden felt realistic for her age (it was still annoying but girlies can be annoying and that’s okay)
@mochibujo11 ай бұрын
This is an interesting point! I think that yes, falling in love quickly is realistic, especially falling in love with the idea of someone, which is kind of what I feel she did. I’m not really criticizing how realistic her behavior is, but rather how her character development seems to go backwards from Fourth Wing to Iron Flame🫣 I feel like she was a lot more resourceful and clever and reflected in the first book, and in the second book she’s more whiny, complains a lot, fights with everyone, and does all the things she’s upset at others for doing to her😅 I have also been 20, so I know her behavior is perhaps not unrealistic, but it sure is annoying and a little bit disappointing for me to read😂
