I love the first 3 books of the Hitch-Hiker's Guide series. Book 4 was okay. I have never read book 5 because Douglas Adams got into a bad headspace when he wrote it. I don't know if you know, but the first two books began as a single radio play. I believe HHG ends the way that it did because the publisher couldn't fit the whole fictionalized version of the radio play into one novel, so it became two.

Totally agree about Robin Hobb. She doesn't write the most action packed fantasy, but her world building is beautiful. Fitz will grow on you if you stick with him and you'll get really invested in his story. Your reaction to The Last Battle is priceless 😂 Can't say people didn't warn you! What it's easy to forget is that C S Lewis wasn't a children's author, or a fantasy writer. He was a theologian and the fact that Narnia has become such a children's classic is just bizarre! You made me feel old by saying you've never seen Hitchhiker's as individual volumes, as mine were all bought that way as and when they were published. I think you'll find the feel changes as you move away from the first couple of books, as they were originally written as a radio play, whereas the later books were actually written as novels.

I could not stop giggling at your Narnia review, I have to go back and check cause I have no memory of it ending like that!! I'm also so curious to see how the hitchhikers guide goes cause I've heard mixed reviews on the rest of the series!!! Thank you for your reviews!

Lost City of Z by David Grann is a great nonfiction that reads like a novel. Pirate Hunters by Robert Kurson is another great read for people looking to get into nonfiction

I started reading Assassin’s Apprentice this summer but then I stopped about halfway through because I started reading other things, even though I was really enjoying it. I have it on my Kindle app, and I hate Kindle’s user interface lol. But I might finish reading it this month! I’ve heard that Hobb is awful to him, especially in the second book, and I’m very much looking forward to that lol! I might get physical copies cause I just don’t like Kindle 😅

I found Terry Pratchett books and Hitchhikers guide both too much spewed consciousness for me to read. You have to be able to block that out to be able to read it.
