ACOTAR sat on my shelf for years because I felt the same. What finally worked is I told myself "you're just gonna read the first few chapters of the first book and see how you feel after". Next thing I knew, I finished the series.

It had an emotional impact on me 🥲 Crown of midnight does end with a cliffhanger, be aware of that 🙈I also recommend that you do the tandem read for empire of storms and tower of dawn! It might seem daunting but it feels like one big book where you follow all the characters at the same time!

I started Caraval recently and honestly I also started it just to read the Once Upon A Broken Heart series but omg I got so obsessed I read the first book in like 2 days which is like really rare for me !! I think you would like it, the guy in this is amazing like I'm in love with him. Also the audiobook is really good, I started with the audiobook to kinda get into it and I think it worked ! I'm only on book 2 but it's getting better istg.

Yes N. S. Perkins is a really underrated author, so emotional but in the best way possible. If you like 'love and other words' by christina lauren then you should read 'the infinity between us' by N. S. Perkins - it's quite similar and one of my favourite books of all time!!

The Caraval Series is so good! I feel like everyone makes it out to be something you have to mope through to the get to the Once A Upon A Broken Heart Series. But I think it’s just as good! Definitely a fall\winter read! Hope you enjoy it! ps. read powerful

the ashes and star cursed king is a bit slower at first bc there’s a lot of stuff going on but it’s a great sequel and gives so much more background info for the characters and much needed for oraya and raihn’s HEA :)) plus the third book (mische’s) comes out this year so!!

You have a great line up Steph. I truly recommend you reading Play Along and love unwritten first. You will LOVE them. I think about both everyday since reading lol. I also loved ACOTAR, it was life changing but you need to prepare yourself to jump into it and be focused on them for sometimes and prepare yourself for a slump after. If you want to get hyped up to start acotar, I recommend the graphic audio which is phenomenal, u might continue with just the audio like I did or want to read the book faster.

I did struggle a little bit with caraval from time to time (perhaps because I had just finished ACOTAR which is a serious roller coaster of emotions). It was totally worth it though because the Once Upon a Broken Heart series was probably one of my favorite fantasy reads! So much romance but without the spice. That goes for both trilogies.

I try not to put pressure on myself but ACOTAR was the only serie that made me feel left out recently. I love fantasy and romance and not knowing it was like missing something. I started reading it this month and I am on third book now. I really enjoy it, luckily I am not obsessed :D but still these books are amazing. Honestly, the first half of Ashes and the Star Cursed King is slow, but once you get past that mark so much happens and it makes it worth it. I absolutely loved it once it picked up and read the second half of the book in a day after struggling to read the book for a month. I hope you read it and love it as much as I did 💜

I finished Love Unwritten a few days ago and it was Lauren Asher's best work. I was not too fond of Love Redesigned and I believe that these books are getting longer. That's why I recommend listening to the book instead of reading it. Because that way you can speed up the process if you want to.

I didnt want to read Powerful for the samr reason until Destiny Sidwell recommended reading it because it introduces someone that will most likely be in Reckless. I read it and am glad i did.
