"Fault in our stars" was hyped.definitely.i liked it. But not obviously freaking loved it like other books in the list. I loved " an imperial affliction" more than the actual book and story. Some lines from the a.i.a is really really moving.

Crying or not crying on certain things totally depends upon the situation we are facing or went through recently. There are very few books that can actually trigger that emotion within us without us having going through those situations. I remeber reading this book few years back, in my official/native language, which made me so sad that I couldn't control my tears.

I recently finished reading Norwegian Wood and think Toru didn’t reunite with Midori and stayed sad and lonely. Didn’t understand the ending at first glance but read somewhere that he made that call to midori from airport in the current timeline and that’s why she was shocked to get a call after so many years and asked him where he was. It made complete sense to me and I think grief just became huge part of his life and he never came out of it.

Title on point though 😅 Norwegian wood surely did change my perspective to judge a book. When I first read it I could not believe that the writer thought to end the book in such a complicated way. I was so angry on him but later I realized that's the beauty of the book. It talks about the emotional stress a death of loved ones bring in our life.The pain of their absence will never go away but life goes on and so should we. Only thing we can do is to keep them in our memories. (By the way I'm a fan of murakami's writing)

'A fine balance' by Rohinton mistry will crush you to the very end. Even though he won several accolades, i think mistry is such an underrated Indian author. This book is lengthy and explores human miseries in such poignant way that you just can't resist reading even when you know there won't be any happy ending. Oh Helly please do read it. It will kill you! Really.... Mistry has written such tragic masterpiece.

I believe that people get lonely when they are in a group or crowd and no one knows them or directly interacts with them. That is the actual "me" time that we get in regualr basis. People keep noticing you, they keep judging you , reminding you of your duties. I believe it's a relief to be in a crowd that is not interacting sometimes because you don't need that always .plus being surrounded by people , being there in a place where there are so many things to notice we tend to believe that no one will be noticing us

(Well idk why but I just wanna share this) well at the moment I am 13 and one of my goal is to read and treasure the books in my collection and make a family library with all the movies books and music in my collection with notes from my life on a shelf in the back corner. I believe that in NORWEGIAN WOOD, murakami tried to potray how we both have NAOKO & MIDORI in us, if in your personality MIDORI in influential, you'll find the ending happy, but if your NAOKO is influential, you'll find it depressing. Murakami has completely made the ending to both possibilities.

Loved the recommendations, as I've read some of these I can guarantee that she's right, they can make you cry/feel sad. One addition: THE TATTOOIST OF AUSCHWITZ (It doesn't have a sad ending per se but is sad because it's based on true events of the Holocaust) I have read many books which have made many cry but honestly, books move me, they make me think, they make me feel but cry? No. There has never been a book (or movie, for that matter) that has made me cry. I keep the possibility open but I low-key know that I'm never gonna cry after reading a book.

Well said..nobody promotes bookish content..its been year I have only 128 subscribers..my friends only don't subscribe then what these celebrities will..some atleast have millions of followers but still they are not into reading..sad truth..thanks for these recommendations..I cried very badly while reading Oath of Vayuputra by Amish Tripati..in a scene when shiva does tandav when Sati dies..😊
