I read The God of the Woods. There are no words for how wonderful this novel.The writing is exquisite, the psychological behaviors of the characters is beautifully researched, the plot keeps you guessing, and there are strong themes running throughout the story. A perfect novel!

It is so wonderfully written and bursting with vitality and heartbreak in equal measure and the ending made me so emotional. I cannot recommend it enough

The Shadow of the Wind was compelling, it read faster then it looks. I have stacks of possibilities for fall and, while there are a few I have my eye on, mostly I want to mix it up and mood read. A classic or two, a few spooky middle grades, something witchy, at least a couple haunted house/gothic vibe books, a dark academia (maybe finally The Secret History?), at least one horror, at least one short story collection. Another autumn goal is to try to read primarily from my own shelves.

I haven't read the book personally, so maybe take this with a grain of salt, but I've heard that fang fiction is more heavy than it looks (apparently it depicts SA and the aftermath of that on the main character); im sure its a fine book but I just thought I'd mention that here as a warning only because you specifically said it looked like a lighthearted book

imo Jade City is a fast read even though it's 500 pgs I work full time and still read it in a few days. (and physically, not audio). it's so good. I love the whole trilogy.
