I will never stop being impressed by how you keep all the footage for every different video you’ve got going straight and organized.
@lanej.64583 жыл бұрын
Right, that occurs to me sometimes (like with the horror Instagram post I think yesterday), there’s so much going on between all of it! I would absolutely be deleting footage on accident all of the time. 😅😭
@beckyuniversityarchive Жыл бұрын
I'm not a vlogger, just a camera assistant but I would probably have two hard drives (because you always need at least two copies of your footage at all times) for each vlog and copy all the footage onto them, they would be used just for that and marked a and b for that particular vlog - I would keep one in a safe and one on my desk probably. It'd be a reasonably expensive set up but then once you've finished a video you could move the finished copy to your long-term storage harddrive and recycle the drives for a new vlog. With any particularly costly filming I would make a third copy and keep it at a friend's place for safety.

you know that It's Always Sunny screencap where someone asks Dennis if he's been to Florida and he says "been there? not physically" -- that's just the vibe I get from your dramatic reading of Only Revolutions. and on the It's Always Sunny vibes, the book sounds like if Dennis & Charlie got together to write the book, like that's what would come out

I'm going to hold off on reading The Atlas Six because apparently the Tor version is going to be a bit more edited, but I'm glad you liked it!
@lanej.64583 жыл бұрын
How fun I’m so excited! I honestly really really liked The Atlas Six, but I feel like that’s partially due to me having no expectations. It was a random find on goodreads, it hadn’t yet made the rounds on tiktok or KZbin, so I didn’t have any idea what I was getting into beyond loving the synopsis. I hope you enjoy it when you get around to it!

@@missburn Tor just said it "will be fully revised by the author, edited, include new interior art, and will have a new cover". I don't think they'll change the meat of the story, but nobody knows for sure what the specific changes will be. I know Olivie Blake said in a Q&A that when she self published she did a vast majority of the editing on her own (with minor help from critique partners). But now, with Tor, she gets an editor. She said, "Working with someone sharp and imaginative like Molly McGhee (editor) means producing a better, more vibrant version of the book without sacrificing my vision for it."

If you wanna take another swing at something that’s kind of weird (after a well deserved break from the chaos) one of my favourite weird books is City of Glass by Paul Auster. Granted, I read this four years ago and have no real idea how well it holds up, but I remember it managing the line of being absurd but oddly captivating really well.

Anyways. What a fun video and thank you for sharing! 💖

People always say 'I read Playboy for the articles' as a joke, but one time I had to collect a bunch of Playboys for a school project and I ended up reading them and the articles actually *were* interesting 😭😂 idk about the quality these days, this was well over a decade ago, but at least back then they employed good writers and journalists.
@casieblevins7253 Жыл бұрын
@@meikusje Playboy was a surprisingly smart and well put together magazine. The pictures were nice, but basically formulaic. Blonde, blonde, blonde, brunette, blonde, one nonwhite woman, blonde, brunette, redhead, blonde, blonde. And repeat, year after year. It was the writing; the articles, and the fiction by writers like Stephen King that made it excellent.
