You’ve got me so excited for reading. Middle grade is really my favorite genre because I love seeing the world with a child’s heart and eyes of wonder! ♥️

Some of my faves have to be Roald Dahl books. That man got me interested in reading as a kid. We read him for english class and I devoured his books as a result lol One of my faves has to be the Skullduggery Pleasant series. It is a bit dark but I like dark. Alas I don’t read as much middle grade as I used to.

All of the children’s books in the video are wonderful. I love both George MacDonald and C. S. Lewis., and I would encourage everyone to read their books. And of course The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe should always be read first to preserve the magic of Narnia. People should be introduced to Narnia through the beginning chapters of the Wardrobe so that the magic won’t be diminished. The wardrobe is such an important part of the beginning of the Narnia experience.

I've really enjoyed Sweep by Jonathan Auxier, The Sixty-Eight Rooms by Marianne Malone, the Winterhouse series by Ben Guterson, and Hank the Cowdog by John R. Erickson is always funny to name a few :). I'm always wanting more middle grade recommendations too, so thank you for making this. Great list, including the one's at the end. I think the Inkheart trilogy was my gateway into middle grade books as an adult. Love them!

Hello Luminous one ! , I truly enjoy your channel and recommendation's, especially in regards to middle grade literature. I am currently reading "Mistress Masham's Repose" and digging it very much. I wanted to bring two books to your attention , neither of which I read as a young reader but know one from the six part series that the BBC produced and which was broadcast on PBS in the mid 1980s. "The Box Of Delights" and the previous book with the same protagonist: "The Midnight Folk" by John Masefield. Masefield was an English Poet laureate ( you might recognize the name as Arthur Ransome used some of his nautical poetry as chapter headings in many of "The Swallows And Amazons" series books). You should check them out , I think you might enjoy them !! Oh, and I also agree that The Narnia Chronicles reading order should be as originally published.
