Ahhhhhh the stand is so cute!!! I love how you just have to step back and take a sec to stare. I literally do that every time I organize. It's like so comforting organizing books and having them atmospherically change the whole room. Wait a go! I've only assembled one shelf for my tiny collection and it's quite a task for one person... 300 books though... 👏🏻👏🏻

I have open-ended shelving because I have some special bookends to feature, one being the faces of comedy and tragedy hugging my Shakespeare, another being Honduran wood carvings to hug my Latin American history, among others. Absolutely adore the new shelves!! You unhauling the dark vault absolutely breaks my heart because its one of my favourites 😭 I typically organize my bookshelves by height/format! Starting with tall hardcovers on the top then going to hardcovers and then paperbacks. Although i do tend to break my own rules since i have a lot of author dedicated shelves too 😅 I absolutely adore filming bookshelf reorganizations!!

obsessed with your new shelves omg and that vampire shelf *chef's kiss* also, your cat is so big now and so fluffy ;A; i don't really have a particular order as to how to organise my shelves, but i do separate classics, translated fiction, i have a whole shelf of books that are not in english, and then i have a ya/middle grade section, a contemporary fiction section and a non fiction section. i place them alphabetically and then if i have more than a book from an author, i organise them by publication date. i don't know if this makes any sense though -__-;

The editing of this video was so lovely, it was so relaxing 🧡 I currently have my bookshelf organized by genre and then within the genre I put authors alphabetically and if I have multiple books by the same author I sort those alphabetcially as well. Series stay in the order of the series of course. The two top rows of my shelf are fantasy books. Half of the third shelf is romance and the other half is general fiction, classics (I only own two other than Sherlock Holmes lol), mystery / thriller sort of books and all my Sherlock Holmes related books. On the fourth row I've got nonfiction books (about photography, art, dictionaries, cooking & baking books, poetry, psychology, science and more random stuff) and three sci-fi books lol But to be honest I keep thinking about reorganizing my bookshelf, I just don't know how I should do it haha

@@katieisreading Microsoft Excel was my best friend while organizing my bookshelf haha I just typed in a list of all the books I owned (which is not as many as you so you might spend a lot of time with that unless you can copy-paste a list from somewhere) and let the program alphabetize everything for me 😎
