I learned so much from this, but on top of that I'm also curious about the concept of "digital fashion" now. I've never heard the term before 🤔

Ooooh perhaps digital fashion should be another video essay topic! Think: fashion you wear on an avatar in a video game but... make it an NFT 🙄

Lovely video. Two additional two-cents to booktok and booktube: - even though the environmental impact of books is not severe as that of the fast fashion industry (I learn a lot), there is still this need for buying new books. It does not happen that I see someone on social media present a copy from the library or the second hand market. I think it is a shame. - what I notice is that the Anglophone world in booktok does impact the bookshops in Europe. When I go to a bookstore in France or Belgium, I see the same American titles, like Rebecca Kuang’s yellowface, and I a not saying it’s a bad thing. I am just saying how it hampers the diversity of stories that get available in the regions.

I’ve seen library borrows gain a little bit of attention amongst the booktok community which makes me happy! I’d love to see free closets and clothing swaps gain that kind of usage as well And thank you for the perspective on diversity! I try to remedy this in my personal life by visiting small, indie and local bookstores that feature local authors, but generally I can see that being an issue. Thank you so much for the insight!

Awesome video 💕 I was re-watching some of your old vlogs (it helps reignight my spark for school) and I love when you go on little info dumps, like with the history of paper patterns. Its always great hearing people talk passionately about their interests and areas of expertise.
