Booktopia customers back of the queue to get refunds as full extent of debt revealed | ABC News

Australian online book retailer Booktopia went under with about $60 million in debt.
The majority of that is owed to banks, the tax office and publishers, but around $15 million is owed to customers, who are last in line in getting any money back.
Unsecured creditors, like publishers, as well as customers are now in limbo over whether they'll get their books - or any money back.
Booktopia's executive chairman Peter George says it had "every confidence that books on back order would be delivered", and that the company "has at all times complied with the law in relation to insolvent trading".
