Hey Sarah, welcome to the community 🥂💚. I hope you're settling in well. I think it's safe to say you'll never be short of people to talk about books with ever again 🤣. Booktube is a wonderful place and starting my channel was one of the best things I've ever done. I hope that the next few years are just as fun and rewarding as the last two have been for me. I'm not gonna lie, I find it kinda adorable that you pretended to reads the books the other kids were reading. I was making myself a coffee whilst listening to the video and couldn't stop chuckling to myself. How deep did you go with it? Did you read the wikipedia pages and correct people when they got plot points wrong so that it seemed more convincing? Did you ever get caught out? I feel like that entire scenario is worthy of a video of its own :') Going back to nostalgia books is a very hit and miss thing to do. Sometimes you go back and realise it's every bit as good as you thought it was but then there's the times where you realise how cringey it is. I felt that way recently when I tried to return to the Alex Rider series and was stunned by how much I didn't like it. I suddenly felt all boring and grown up. It seems you've already grasped the advice I would've given you in terms of things I'd wish I'd known when starting my channel. Getting joy out of it is indeed the most important thing. Let loose, be yourself, have fun and make content you can be proud of. If people see you enjoying yourself they'll come along for the ride. Your taste in books will get you far. Fantasy and horror reviews do really well in the booktube sphere. As someone who's more of a crime/thriller reader I sometimes feel like a bit of an outsider because I'm not on the hype train for the cool new releases. That's okay though because I just enjoy making content. I subscribed and I look forward to getting to know you more and watching you become a rising star in our little community. Thank you for such a sweet and thoughtful response!! I didnt go that far into it my fake reading haha. I carried the books around and let everyone else talk about them and just agreed with everything they said 🤣 no one questioned me further. I've been having so much fun so far and I feel like I get more and more comfortable with each video! Thriller is such an inclusive genre, it's very horror adjacent and I feel like there's a huge group of people that tend to read specifically thriller and crime mysteries! I get nervous that I like too many genres and I see so many booktubers really stick to particular niches so they get very loyal viewers that go to them for specific book recommendations, but I can only stay true to myself and I get bored of too much of the same thing

Alright, so Im obsessed with you! Im so excited to watch your stuff! Love your shirt, love your eyeball flower pot, your moon page, your bookshelves... I can already tell your personality and likes are so similar to mine, and that hasn't been easy to find. I think you're going to be a phenomenal book tuber. Also, as a fellow book tube newbie, I can totally relate to going off on tangents when Im talking. I don't know if this will help you at all, but I found that it is easier to edit based off of the audio waveform. Its way easier/quicker to edit out buts, ums, pauses, and it makes it easier to make a more fluid sounding transition when you cut out large chunks. I don't want to come across as a know it all since Im a total newb too, but I thought I would share cause editing is a b****! See you around!
