By the way, when I say I bring an older perspective to my channel - Just to be clear, I subscribe to many young people's channels and very much value their views and their content. I'm constantly learning from them. : ) Experience isn't only about age. I just mean I read as someone who's been around for a number of decades and additionally, I'm interested in issue of aging and the depiction of older folks in literature.

Hi Celeste, I just found your channel by searching the booktube newbie tag. I love the fact that you plan to focus on more short forms. I love short stories (Alice Munro is one of my favorite writers) so look forward to see more of them featured here. And I remember the Scholastic Book Club! Getting those forms and picking out the books was just one of the greatest things ever.

Just found your channel Celeste and so pleased that I have! Thrilled to hear you plan to focus at times on Short stories, essays etc. I’ve found very little of that on Book Tube so hope it makes you stand out. So great to have a mature and experienced reader and teacher focussing on a variety of flavours. Very best of luck. Hope you stick around longer than a year 😄. All the best 👍

Daphe De Muirier's "Rebecca" is a good choice for getting through the Dewinter of my discontent (too icy). Watched "Chaplin" with Robert Downey Jr. again, decent, and had read a Chaplin biography awhile back -- Chaplin was roundly critciszed for failing to sign up for doing his part in the Great War. In fact he earned himself a 'white feather." Loved Reader's Almanac intro too!

Hi! I'm an older reader (65 shh). And I remember all the children's books you talked about and Scholastic. I read voraciously from the time I learned to read. I'm not a big fan of short form but I love the Sherlock Holmes short stories. Have you read any books in verse? I've only read a few in middle grade. I'm a writer. Only had a dark paranormal short (I know I said I'm not a fan) but I'm working on a middle grade on a particular subject and when I was researching what is out there I discovered books in verse. I liked them. I have no clue if they exist in the adult market. I'm going to watch some of your previous blogs but from what I've seen so far I hope you stick around.

Hi and welcome! I’ve read a memoir called Inside Out and Back Again by Thanhha Lai. It’s a mid grade book. : )
