Thank you for the shout out Jen. 🥰 you were the first few people i started to watch on booktube. and even though i don't really comment as much, know that you always have such a warm, cute place in my heart. Loved all the recommendations btw. Checked out some of the people and they're AMAZING. But not as amazing as you! 🤗🤗

Sorry to hear that you went through what must have been a very difficult time! Last year, I also had a couple of months when I couldn't read. You bet that I celebrated the first book I completely finished after that! 🥳 When I'm not feeling my best, I go to booktube for comfort. Just like you, I really enjoy the community. Happy to see you uploading again! It's almost like seeing a friend after a long time 😊

Jen, you can post about whatever you read whenever you want. After being a watcher/commenter for 3-4 years, I finally launched my own channel. I'm having so much fun and each week is a learning experience. You are absolutely right, people are nothing but warm and welcoming in the community. I'm starting to wonder what took me so long to finally post. I love hearing about your reads and your PhD adventures.

What a fun video! Several of these channels are new to me and I can't wait to explore them further. BookTube really is a lovely community. It's helped me so much over the last year. I'm glad it helps you as well! And thank you for including my Grapes of Wrath video. I love doing my Pulitzer videos because I feel like they allow me to unleash my inner nerd.

Hi Jen, this was my first video of yours. Thanks for being so open. I completely understand how something you enjoy can become difficult in grief. I am sorry you have had to go through the loss of your father and the terrible start to your year. I found booktube by mistake. I had stopped reading but mine was earlier, my Dad passed away when I was 15 and then my Mum only recently. There is a lot of guilt in joy. But I met my partner 2 years ago and we get married this year who has bought joy back, hence why reading and other hobbies are also back on the agenda. You will get there. And I look forward to watching some of your previous videos :)

Gosh your intro in this video really made me smile and giggle out loud. I loved the mushiness and love you showed for the book tube community ❤ So helpful to receive recommendations for even more awesome book tubers it seems like my subscription feed will be getting even longer. I almost feel inspired to pick up a camera myself and start a channel too! I recently subscribed to Charlotte Molloy's channel as she seems to have very similar taste to me so I love her recommendations.
@JentheLibrarianreads Жыл бұрын
The BookTube community really is wonderful. If you’re inspired to start a channel you definitely should, but commenters are still a massive warm and welcome part of the community too 🥰. I love Charlotte’s videos, I only started watching her recently and I find her so engaging and interesting to listen to.

I agree about ages! I'm proud to be 37 and I'll be proud to be 67 too. Lots of people don't live to be the age you are so we need to celebrate AND we have learned and grown so much each and every year. I love the person I am now so why wouldn't I share my age? Why be embarrassed? It never made sense to me. Hopefully things are changing with our generation!
