Nice video. Thank you. I enjoyed Corn, Cane and Gully a lot. My copy of ISDAL arrived this afternoon so once that is finished I've read both branches of the Forward Poetry Prize and I can think about which ones I'd want to re-read. I really only didn't like one and that's more to do with me than the poet I think. I look forward to finding out what your project is for 2024. I'm planning an In Parentheses project for next year, which involved me getting a reading list of the books alluded to/mentioned in the book. That's relatively straightforward because David Jones gives you copious footnotes and references. Whether I do it or not is down to the complications of health and life.

Beautiful vlog footage! I have only been camping once and it was a thoroughly miserable experience that put me off the whole enterprise... but it was definitely not the typical camping trip because my mother's then-boyfriend had taken me along on a camping trip with his weird military vehicle club. Anyway, the tease at the end of the video is just mean. 😉

I’m with you on the people noise when you want some peace! I’ve meant to read some Christopher Isherwood for a while - the memoir sounds fascinating, particularly about Forster. I’ve been interested in the ‘No one round here reads Tolstoy’ memoir but I think that would also rub me up the wrong way as a working class reader from a family of working class readers!
