For Alchemy, it leveled out all of your resources. You started with more wood and original scouting showed you should have received more wood than stone & iron. After the battle, all resources are at the same amount. So you received less wood but more stone & iron.

23:23 There was a game called empires and allies. it was like a clash / boom beach mix type of game. and you could do that in that game. for example: Send some troops to the west and some to the east. It was very nice and usefull.

21:40 you can see that they actually decrease the wood you would receive if you won ,i think for you to get equalish amounts of wood stone and iron

Instead of reducing scorcher destruction damage, they should've redirected the damage to enemy's troops/buildings. For new HQ, except that new building there's nothing that they should call Calm before Storm lol.
