Literally just started watching Kiznaiver and i loved the OP song which brought me here, now i've just read that the band are splitting up because their vocalist/guitarist is suffering partial paralysis from a fourth brain tumor relapse. It's sad to hear someone going through that, but if this song is anything to go by then he's helped create some great music. I wish him and his family all the best.

Rest in peace Kawashima-san. This is a beautiful thing to leave behind for your daughter who, from what can be seen in this video, was raised with so much love and support by her loving mother and father and this video is without question a celebration of that love for one's child. And as heartbreaking as it will be for her she can, at the very least, carry those fond memories she shared with her father with her throughout the rest of her life and she will need only look at this video to realise how dearly she was loved by her amazing father. Thanks for the amazing music BBS!

BEAT IT y GIRL eran mis canciones favoritas pero DIVE ON YOU era algo superior. Recuerdo aquella época con nostalgia porque las dudas sobre mi futuro me atenazaban y no sabía qué rumbo mi vida tomaría. DIVE ON YOU me ayudó a abstraerme de todas mis incertidumbres e inseguridades. Gracias BOOM BOOM SATALLITES especialmente a Kawahima san por tanto arte, creatividad, sonidos maravillosos y voz portentosa. The first 90 seconds brings back a strong memory. My family was on vacation in the Galapagos islands, and we were currently in Tortuga Bay, a beautiful secluded white beach. The water was so calm and clear, the sand was the softest I had ever felt under my bare feet, and this incredible urge came over me to run. Every step felt like velvet and my mind went away to leave only my senses. I started laughing. I couldn't stop. For maybe one or two minutes it was pure magic, running on this beach, my mom trailing behind me. I hope to someday feel that euphoria again.

In 2016 after watching the anime I immediately opened KZbin to hear this masterpiece. The tunes, the tension building, the plot, the little girl playing. It was all beautifully made up. His voice saying "flyyyy out" was the thing that was touching my ears like an ASMR. Making me to be that kid playing. But... I wasn't unaware of his health at the time. I was repeating this song uncountable times. I'm so sad because I thought he was happily living with his family but the reality was other 😢 Today this was a random search and now I ended crying. The really amazing part is that Kawashima's health issues started before BBS ever recorded an album. He was fighting brain tumors since the 1990s. So the bright side is that it wasn't a career cut short - it was an entire career in SPITE of a terminal condition. That's why after he died, Nakano said it wasn't a tragedy; it was an achievement and a happy ending.

The camera beginning the video close to his daughter and eventually drawing away into the distance and taking a top-down view of her is probably how he sees his daughter. The camera is probably the proximity of the father to his daughter, and how he continues to watch over her, regardless of how far they're separated from each other. I think the woman at the end is an actor playing a grown-up version of his daughter (they hid the face intentionally), and his well wishes for her to grow up healthy, find a family to make her own, and to be happy even though he is gone. Every father wants to watch their kid grow up and reach their own heights but time is short for him, so he did it through this video. Anyway bye i'm going to go cry again.
