For those who didn't understand, she got send to outer space right before some planet or star make an impact with earth, her father sent her there with some equipment that make her fall into some sort of coma and into virtual reality that let's her make anything she wants, and one day when she's doing the same thing as always, a swing appears outta nowhere and she didn't put that there, as she touches it she remember something, as time passes some illustration showed up and she got sent to when she's still a kid and get to know the truth behind all these things she can do, and then she receives a mail from her father, I can translate it but not really good, since I'm no Japanese,it says: I don't really have enough time since you're borned, I dont know how much love I can give you after your mother passed away, but your lively smile makes me feel encouraged To be honest I really wanted to go with you, but I can't, I'm sending you off without your memory, if it's you I'm sure it's ok, when you're starting to feel lonely I'm sure you will remember it I believe you can be strong and read this letter, it will be nice if I can write more about my thoughts, I'm sorry.When you're small I don't think you can understand it very well but if it's now I'm sure you can do it The word that you don't understand that day After Rin read the mail she fall to tears knowing what her father has done for her, and we get to see where Rin is at, the outer space after earth is destroyed A truly amazing story, the only one story that manage to get me this close to tear By the way, English and Japanese is not my main language, so the translation might seem odd

I always thought this song was a metaphor about boredom and loneliness. I'm a single child of a single mom. She died recently. I can't begin to describe how this video feels so much like my situation. Knowing how much she did for me through my life, how much she gave just to make me happy. Being in the home we spent so much time together in, surrounded by the decorations and furniture she liked. The things she put up when I was a small child. The way she organized my books or games. Going downstairs where grandma used to read and watch TV in her room, inviting me to come in. The way to the kitchen where her workstation sits collecting dust, where she spent so much time grading and looking after her students. The garage where that stupid cherry red chair sits, the place she used to enjoy having her morning-afternoon coffee and a brief smoke that I simply can't find myself to move now. Now it's so peacefully quiet, lights that used to be on at night are off. The quiet din of a TV no longer buzzing at night. That small fake-Christmas tree we got standing quietly in the corner, a marker of our last Holiday together. She built an entire home for me, gave me so many endlessly great Birthdays. Brought together so many of my friends every year. Some days I don't think of it, I just work or play quietly. But others I remember every wonderful moment, and for all the tears it brings I can't help but feel loved. Thank you, Mom.

She is taken back to Niyoake, the civilization on a distant planet where the Japanese people fled to long before the disaster of Earth. Within this civilization, a majority of the citizens live in a simulation almost identical to Rin's Shelter, referred to as The World. Being the author of both simulations, Shigeru sabotaged The World so that the coding could not be changed, before being left on Earth. Having witnessed Rin's capability to "create", Director Kaeru feared that Rin would be taken and forced to do the government's bidding should she or her authorization to manipulate The World's coding be discovered. He does his best to hide her from the Emperor's subordinate's ever searching eyes and give Rin a chance to live a normal life. The melodies and lyrics incorporated into a song like this, when stripped down and played with an orchestra/classical instruments, will probably take your breath away in a different way. But in its original electronic form it will make you feel really intense euphoria/happiness/general emotions. It's like when you finally understand a language you can appreciate its beauty. I think that's the thing with music. You won't appreciate every little effort that goes into the crafting of a song like this if you don't have an ear for it. This short story hits so hard. My perception changes all the time when I watch this. On one hand, the father protected his daughter and loved her to the very end. On the other hand, he left her in a virtual world for years at a very young age, all alone in space. I guess it depends on how you look at it. She was saved from the world ending. On the other hand, she was forced to live alone for however much longer in an artificial world. My hope... and honestly, if this became an actual series or movie... some remaining survivors find her right before her life support cuts out, saves her, and then she finally wakes up and takes on a new life and new challenges elsewhere. All in the memory of her mother and father. But specifically the father because he gave her a second chance to really live. That's how I would write the continuation. That's all super extra and down the rabbit hole, but the bottom line for me is a story of a father's love. Or rather a parent's love for their children and how they are willing to do anything to give them a chance in a way they did not. Okay, I gotta stop before I start crying again. Beautiful story and song.

I'm not an emotional person. When I watch a sad movie, I feel sad, but it doesn't get to me, like I don't break down and cry, but after watching this for the first time, I lost it. I sat at my desk just staring at my screen with tears running down my face and feeling things that I have not felt in an extremely long time. This video has made me feel things that I don't understand and have never gotten from any form of media, yet alone a six minute video. I tend to assume that the destination we see on the screen in the end is some sort of colony created by humans who managed to escape before destruction. A group of humans were able to create a mode of transport to this colony, but of course, only a select number of people could fit in the craft, while all others, including Rin and her dad, were excluded. So Rin's father scraped together all of his resources and knowledge (must have been some sort of rocket scientist) to build Rin's shelter--all while knowing that he didn't have the means to make the same sort of provision for himself--and directed it towards the colony that doesn't even know she's coming. The question here, of course, is if Rin makes it.
