So I have been looking for a bomberman clone game on mac that we played on our schools macs in the early 00s. Was so happy when I discovered this, it's really close to what we played. The UI, block layout and the bosses every 10 levels is the same. But the version we played must have been a special mod with pokemon and south park charaters. The bosses were Blastoises and the bombs were pokeballs/voltorbs.

It wasn't uncommon for people to use ResEdit to change the sprites and sounds of a game, its quite easy to do. It sounds like thats what happened there and could have been done by someone at your school. I doubt it will have made it to archive but if it had a name and you can remember it I can keep an eye out

@@YesterYearsMacGames I remember that our version had different music aswell. Unfortunately i don't know the real name. It was colloquially known as "the pokemon game" even though only part of the characters were from there. None of us had Mac at home so we didn't think about looking it up outside of school. Took me while just find Boom. But this is a great step in my search.

There was a tool called “BoomEdit” that allowed you to make changes to the images. I used it myself!
