if you really want a superstate then start with Ethopia, merge with the neighbours to become the African Union which can then merge the entire continent. then form the Caliphate which has claims on Ethopia and therefore can diplomatically annex the entirety of the African union (which if completed is the entire continent) plus its own claims on the middle east. careful though because Caliphate doesn't have claims on anything south of Ethopia meaning if they weren't already a part of the African union you cant get it.

I wonder if it is plausible to run something like this as a campaign strategy? I assume that you would want to have some other countries for actual economy, like maybe India or something else.

@@garr_inc I suspect that's Perun's strategy for his current Asia/Africa only Academy run. But the 4 nations you need to make it work are China (Pan-Asian Combine), Ethiopia (African Union), Saudi Arabia (Caliphate), and Malasia (Greater Malay Union). If you manage their respective claims properly, you can absorb everything from Vladivostok, Tokyo, and Jakarta, to Morocco and Johannesburg. And if you manage the blob perfectly, theoretically you could pull all of Continental Europe, too. But that is probably a bit overly gamey.

'Hydra aliens' made me wonder, does the game have like, several alien races/factions that it rolls so each run has a chance of a different one? Maybe one wants to bomb us to death, while another wants us subjugated, and so on. Would be a cool way to make replayability way better, if you dont instantly know who the enemy is and what they are after a few runs in.

‘We believe all nations should be free to chose their own course…’ ‘… as long as it benefits our Euro-American Hegemony.’ It’s a shame the Resistance are not punished or prevented from rampant exploitation of this nature. It makes perfect sense for the other factions. But the Resistance should be working through persuasive methods. But I love this game, it reminds me of the Fear series of books (Fear the Sky, Fear the Survivors and one other…) which have basically this plot - a bunch of humans discover aliens are coming to invade, and have to go to extreme geopolitical lengths to save the world, to the point some of them become their own worst enemy.

The European Union in this game doesn't make any sense. One thing is European Union, another is the possibility of an European Federation. Now, countries within the European Union should not be allowed to enter in war with each other and keep its membership. And for what I understood, the game keeps countries in both the EU and in the EF (European Federation), so you should never be able to enter in war with Spain and the European Federation, since Spain is still part of the EU. In other word, or the game developer don't know shit about how EU works, or the game is not that real as it try to be.
