Hello. Love your helpful videos. Got me through some frustrating times with Boom and TPT. With all the new changes, not sure how anyone is going to survive. It's probably best to branch out to other marketplaces. I am in the process of checking all accessibilities on Boom. It's so tedious and time consuming. How do I get the motor accessible checked?

Thank you for sharing this information. I guess I better get started. I probably have about 300+ decks. At this rate, I need to try to update a deck a day. I started updating a deck while I was watching your video and I got about half way done a 30 card deck and said "nope".... haha. I guess this is something I will have to consider if it is worth my time. A perfect job for a VA, if only I made enough from Boom to justify that expense. Oh the dilemmas!

I agree that it is very frustrating! Of my 394 TpT products, 194 are BOOM decks! I was selling like a house on fire especially when I became a Premium Seller, but lately, crickets! Maybe some of that is summer doldrums? I took a stab at adding accessibility features to a few of my decks, but it takes forever! One thing I will add: I don't think this is entirely BOOM's fault, certainly not with malicious intent. In my 24 years in the ed business, we welcomed more and more students with special needs. New regulations were constantly being implemented. All the "special area" teachers (art, library, music, PE) had to read all the IEPs (Individualized Education Plans). Of our 500+ students, almost half were in special ed. We had to adapt our lessons, give preferential seating, extra time on tests, simplify language...all without a special ed background. I think the states and federal government are imposing these regulations on school districts. They don't want to be sued by the parents. I don't think BOOM can let people off the hook, especially if they want to sell to schools. But they were a bit shocked by the pushback from sellers and I think they intend to offer more training on this.

No, I agree that it isn’t Boom’s fault but their pricing is not reasonable. I have only 25 students but I have to pay for 150 in order to create more than 5 decks.

Thanks for the video, but it is impractical for sellers to do this. It should be optiontional. Boom sales are too low to bother.

Hi Lori, thank you again for your help and time. I have about 50+ decks and I manage to do one small deck with accessibility , it took me almost 2 days because they have a lot of elements. I think you idea for Boom to add a category of decks that have accessibility. I reached out to boom for help and have them check my deck and see if it was done correctly and no help. It is hard for us to see if what are we putting in this area the correct format. I don’t have a text reader to see if it makes sense to the student. Also waiting to a tutorial with different kinds of deck for us to see.

Hi Ana, it is going to take some time if you have a lot of elements in your decks. Based on the FB Group, I think they are currently overwhelmed by the help needed by sellers! I'm going to make another video on creating a deck around the end of July.

Hi Julie, I think they have already received a ton of complaints. I am making another video in the next week as they have NOW said that all Boom Decks do not have to comply with accessibility tools, only Premier Publishers. It's still crazy!

This could be wrong, depending on the value of your images. Consider if someone blind is using a screen reader to read your deck. What will it say to them?
