Boomaroo Nurseries Women in Horticulture Award 2023 winner Angela Candeloro

While the horticulture industry has historically been male dominated, the number of women in the sector is continuing to grow. With more young women entering the industry or considering a career in horticulture, the role of female mentors is perhaps more important than ever.
Women like Angela Candeloro of Tripod Farmers in Victoria are ‘sending the ladder back down’ to help young people in the industry get a leg up. Angela was recognised for her contribution to the industry in 2023 when she was presented with the Boomaroo Nurseries Women in Horticulture Award at Hort Connections 2023.
AUSVEG’s Deborah Hill spoke with Angela about her life growing up on the family farm and her journey as an industry mentor.
