(when it comes to PPG, Teen Titans, Dexter's Lab, Samurai jack and etc.) One day I went on youtube to look up promos of Boomerang and I saw Boomerang Rebrand (UK) I was interested, I watched it...I didn't like it all. (Reason why I looked up promos is because we can't get the Boomerang channel on Xfinity)

This rebrand is AWFUL! It is a generic copy of Cartoon Networks current logo and it sucks. Boomerang's ONLY purpose in life was to air classic animation. Not new series. Not series based off of old series. Just classic cartoons. Not to mention most of the Hanna Barbera classics will likely never air now. And honestly, I don't have the money now to buy all these series on DVD. And Heck, not all of them are even on DVD. Or VHS. And those Shorties, Groovies, Wedgies will definitely be missed. Turner will regret this rebrand when Boom goes down the same road as the Hub (which is inevitable).

Couldn't have been said better. However, I wouldn't say that it's going down the same road as the Hub, rather it's turning into a channel like the Hub. The Hub, was the replacement for Discovery Kids, which was already airing new series and cartoons. The Hub actually took a little bit of a step back, airing some new cartoons, but rerunning a lot of 90s cartoons and movies also. Boomerang's new rebrand has turned a classic cartoon channel into a crappy and repetitive attempt at a classic cartoon channel.

One thing that I've always wished that Boomerang did was have their own incarnation of Adult Swim and Toonami. They would have Adult Swim from 11PM-5AM, with reruns of all of the old Adult Swim shows such as Space Ghost: Coast to Coast, Home Movies, The Brak Show, Harvey Birdman, Sealab 2021, and Aqua Teen Hunger Force. There could have also been their own version of Toonami using the TOM 2 material with reruns of shows that aired during the TOM 1, TOM 2, and TOM 3 eras. But, I guess that is a far-fetched idea at this point. And also, their own version of Cartoon Cartoon Fridays with the old Cartoon Cartoons and the old promos and bumpers from back then. That might as well be farfetched at this point.

Boomerang is going the same route as nicktoons did ,they were their own channels showing cartoons they wanted to . Boomeran had classic cartoons from HB. While Nicktoons had old Nick shows but later started gaining their own original and even superior shows compared to Nickelodeon. Say you think you would ever review the nicktoons channel?

I'm very upset about the rebrand. Boomerang has been my TV safe haven for a while now. It's the only channel which truly brings me back to my childhood due to the use of the same bumpers. They never got old. Seeing the bland bumpers now makes the channel feel somewhat dead to me now.

I was so excited when we finally upgraded to get Boomerang on TV..... until I realized they played the SAME 3-4 shows all week long. Chowder, Pokemon, Garfield Show, Scooby Doo and Tom & Jerry. Uncalled for.

Alright man great job "monstersreview", Boomerang needed a new rebrand and design though, because they used the same bumpers for 15 years straight, however, you know what I think, Boomerang in the U.S. should have had several rebrands long time ago in between this one, instead of jumping from the same old bumpers to a whole new set of bumpers in 15 years. Personally, I don't think the bumpers are too bad, they're decent for a rebrand however I agree it could have been a little better. I really hope more and more Cartoon Cartoons and old CN original reruns start returning to the Boomerang schedule later on and some acquired WB reruns as well, however, I'm not sure. As we already know, Boomerang will be having original series for the first time, so I kinda doubt it for now. Since it's going to be an ad supported network now, the days of Boomerang being an Hanna-Barbera rerun channel are over, guess those cartoons are no longer profitable. There's a slight chance the old CN originals could return to the schedule though.

I feel like Boomerang is going in the direction of the Hub, creating some content, but rerunning mainstream classics. If they started producing and airing a lot of original series, and stopped focusing on old cartoons (which is the direction it's heading in), then why call it Boomerang? It's like CN during the CN REAL phase. And about the rebrand, I said that I agree that we needed one since we've had the same look for the past 15 years, but I wanted something better than this. In early 2014, they teased a look called "Imaginary" and they were supposed to rebrand with that look, but they instead got a different and crappy look to rebrand with. I actually liked the imaginary look, and thought it fit well. Boomerang took it off of their KZbin channel after knowing that they weren't going to have that rebrand, but luckily someone uploaded it. monstersreview I would not compare the new Boomerang to how CN Real was on Cartoon Network. Now that's just a little too far I have to admit, CN Real thing was the WORST THING to ever occur to any of the CN channels in the entire history, which was in 2009 during the middle of the Nood Era. Live-action reality shows on a Cartoon channel is not the same comparison. Boomerang is just making a new approach now, they're basically changing their theme completely, because those old classic Hanna-Barbera cartoons are no longer profitable and they've been around for 15 years straight. Actually, a lot of CN reruns started moving over to Boomerang around 2011 and 2012, but that became completely noticeable by June 2014. Plus, many of the other Boomerang's in the other countries already had several rebrands long time ago and changed their lineup several times before too. I can see the Cartoon Cartoons and old CN originals returning. But of course, like you said, there's going to be BOOM original programming now, I could see Inspector Gadget, Be Cool Scooby-Doo, and that new Looney Tunes Wabbit show getting moved to Boomerang as original series. Plus I heard that some little kid programming in probably CGI animation might join Boomerang as well. There's actually a possibility that Animaniacs and Tiny Toon Adventures reruns could join Boomerang as well. We just have to see, it'll take months in progress. However, like I said, other than Tom & Jerry, Looney Tunes, Scooby-Doo, and The Flintstones, the other Hanna-Barbera/MGM stuff are no more, unfortunately.... Now I do agree, Boomerang should have used the imaginary look instead of this new design being a CHECK it 3.0 clone. I don't understand why CN decided to make the new Boomerang look similar to the 3.0 design. Last but not least, I forgot to mention, put I never realized that even after Stuart Snyder left months ago, his plans would still be intact for the new Boomerang rebrand..... damn, he really damaged the whole purpose of an all animation watchers channel. SIGH... Well, I remember when Cartoon Network rebranded into the City Era in 2004, and there were some changes that didn't amuse me at the time either, but at the same time, we still had the old Boomerang (even though most ppl didn't have it yet at the time), and Cartoon Network still had lots of variety of cartoons with all types of genres. But yeah, now, Cartoon Network and Boomerang are both repetitive with the same shows over and over again. Many others and I have to give the CHECK it Era credit for having some higher quality shows and improvement, since 2010 up to now, but you know, Stuart Snyder had to cancel stuff and put shows in death slots. This era has lost so much potential. At least there's still something on Boomerang and [AS] right now. Cartoon Network, all I care about is Regular Show now and that's it, which is not even playing that much either, while TTGO and many others get spammed up too much. But hey, there's several things we've never liked that Cartoon Network has done, past and present, and definitely the future too. But at the same time, Cartoon Network will never hit 2009 low again. PS: So that's who the scheduling manager guy is? I'm gonna write this name in my journal, need to bring him up big time. I think he's the scheduling version of Stuart Snyder. He's gotta go too. I wonder if he was responsible for putting the great shows/blocks in death time slots before those got cancelled.

I wasn't comparing CN Real to Boomerang, but I stated that both networks changed their focuses at that time (For Boomerang, it's now) so why call them Boomerang or CN when they don't live up to their names? And that guy's name is Vishnu Athreya. He came from CN Asia and started his job as the Director of Scheduling during Summer 2014.

It's worse now that it's October 2015. As I see it, Turner doesn't seem to have a clear cut plan in mind for Boomerang other than wanting the channel to make a profit. Turner made it clear from the get-go that Boomerang was never intended to compete with Cartoon Network, and I can understand them wanting Boomerang's programming to be an alternative to CN's. After all, what's the point of having 2 separate channels if they're going to air all of the same shows? For one thing, I think Boomerang was too quick to abandon the old-school shows. I know that nostalgia isn't profitable right now and that was why new and original shows as well as imported 3rd party were added to the schedule, and that's fine, but I don't see why it has to be exclusively one thing or the other? Why can't Boomerang be a mix of old and new shows? I could see 60/40% or 70/30% ratio of newer and older CN produced shows that no longer air on the main network, such as, the 1990's Cartoon Cartoons or the old-school Hanna-Barbera and Warner Bros. shows (I mean besides Scooby Doo and Tom & Jerry). Boomerang could still run those shows during non-peak viewing hours. A complaint within a complaint is that there are a number of older CN shows that could be running on Boomerang, but aren't for some reason, Turner won't run them on Boomerang. For that matter, why isn't Boomerang running reruns of the CN episodes of Space Ghost: Coast to Coast on late nights? Turner owns these shows lock, stock and barrel and it wouldn't cost them a dime to air them, but they aren't doing this, why? Makes no sense. I also agree that shows like Wabbit and Be Cool, Scooby Doo! don't need to be airing on both CN and Boomerang simultaneously. Cross Promotion is one thing, but why do I need to watch Wabbit on Boomerang when it's already airing on CN too? There should be some sense of exclusivity or else these 2 channels are just interchangable and if you have one, you don't need the other. Turner needs to decide once and for all, if Boomerang isn't going to be the haven for old-school Cartoon Network shows anymore, then what is it supposed to be? If you're going to be an alternative channel to CN, then actually be an alternative channel. Do something that Cartoon Network isn't doing. That's all I'm saying

Why would they rebrand the Boomerang Channel? Because the Ratings of boomerang were sliding, it went freefall, so Turner announced that they will plan to relaunch boomerang. If turner brings back the old version of boomerang, the ratings will slide down again, I know it hurts, but we’re gonna have to deal with it.

I haven't watched this video in a long time, but because it's 5+ years old, I'm guessing I don't agree with a lot of what I said in it. I'm a lot more informed and less of a ranting fanboy now. However, I still think that the rebrand of Boomerang could've been done much better. Their strategy was to load up on the popular classics (Looney Tunes, Scooby Doo, and Tom & Jerry) while having a few originals and aligning their branding more closely to Cartoon Network (CMYK colors with geometric motion graphics). They wanted this to a better supplement for CN and eventually, their own streaming service. However, these moves alienated the existing viewers. For a lot of people, one of the most appealing aspects of Boomerang was that it was more-or-less separate from Cartoon Network. It had its own look, shows, and schedules that CN didn't impede on. When CN started to make a lot of poor decisions (circa 2009), I turned to Boomerang as my new channel of preference. It had a good, diverse selection of older shows, amusing shorts during breaks, and branding that matched its purpose. Now more than ever, I understand that things have to change, and especially as cable is dying, Turner needs to make a profit on the channel, but as a former viewer, I can't remember the last time I turned on Boomerang. There's nothing appealing about it and especially with both HBO Max and the Boomerang streaming service now, I don't see much incentive for the current generation of kids to check it out either.

I thought that there was another logo used from 2004-2014 with swirly-joined handwriting font that said "Boomerang" in a dark blue colour font and with a pale blue background (background used from 2004-2011) with the logo to swirl into the screen. Then, since 2012, we had a lots of different backgrounds like space, fields and underwater where the logo would swirl in and stretch out from its narrow position (used from 2012-2014 like srsly I mean 2yrs!) , those were the good times. I don't know if it's just Europe which had that logo so I don't think you Americans had ever experienced this beauty :D I haven't seen the "B" Shaped Boomerang on TV so I guess it was different in Europe :/

Guys so the targeted viewing age on boomerang is 6-11. My little sisters are both in that rage and the ONLY reason we tuned in was for classic Hanna-Barbera, which doesn't have all of its cartoons on DVD release, so boomerang is the only place you can view it, Tom & Jerry (the CLASSIC ones do not understand why the new show is airing same with both Looney Toones remakes), and I hope some of you remember the MGM cartoons (Droopy, Happy Harmonies, Tex Avery Cartoons, and others). I think they rebranded because anyone fitting the "appropriate" age rage in 2000, their first year, would be 6, so they would be born in 1994. Any one who was 11 would be born in 1989, I think. So now, the ages of those people would be 21 & 26, which if they grew up with boomerang like I did, would mean college age/young adult which holds only 14% less viewers than kids. Any one watching boomerang now that meet the age if they started watching 2014 would have to be born 2008 (6 yrs) to 2003, mostly new viewers. But that doesn't justify ANYTHING. The one reason we had this on was because my parents wanted me and my brother to enjoy the stuff they grew up watching. Seriously, my dad basicly hates TV, and he would be so excited to watch everything with us. My mom was so secure in this channel she left us with the remote and would go make dinner. You can't say that about new cartoons. My dad doesn't find interest in new shows, and my mom doesn't trust them. Sound like your parents? Probably. So "family" friendly isnt apliabble here. Plus, the commercials suck. I mean, if I wanted to watch CN, I wouldn't be on this channel. And the logo when I first saw it, I thought "is that a sideways cereal box? Maybe to represent Saturday morning cartoons?" Nope. I have SO many good memories from that channel. Basicly everything I said at school was a Hanna-Barbera catch phrase or a title of an MGM cartoon. This led to my PE teacher stopping a game because she was laughing so hard to me getting in trouble sometimes. This was always going to be the channel I showed to my kids. Now, if I want to watch anything, I have to go to the KZbin channel app on our TV which takes forever to search for stuff and switching to another remote, and it's not the same. My little sisters just saw their first Droopy cartoon, and one of them said,"Oh that's the dog from Tom and Jerry Tales". My other little sister has never heard of the Jetsons and my brother is too lazy to care so he just watches whats on the channel. If I get any Christmas money the first thing I'm doing is buying DVDs. I have no choice. I'm also considering burning the intros and bumpers onto a DVD and playing that in between. And watching all these cartoons on my phone isn't working for me. I want to watch MGM cartoons in the living room while my mom makes a pie and fake sick from school so I can watch Quick Draw McGraw. It's purpose was for classic, and now it's for crappy. I'm going to go email them a suggested scheduel. RIP Boomerang (2000-2015) "It's all coming back to you now".

I was hoping that this rebranding will make it more like the UK version, since I found that to be slightly better than the US version for it had a mix of shows from different eras (and I got tired of seeing the same bumpers over and over). But this, this looked worse than the original and it's schedule is even more messed up.

I've recently began to send a series of emails to boomerang. On their new website, they have a contact section where it tells you to send an email to a specific email address. I forgot what it was. I've also made comments on every single post they put out on their CN facebook for the past three weeks now asking them to put the classics back on boomerang. Most likely the people at CN don't read comments, but I post them anyway so atleast people on their facebook page can see my comments and bring attention to it. I saw a few other people doing the same thing on their facebook account. And about those direct DVD movies boomerang airs on weekends, a DVD of scooby doo cyberchase cost $1.99 at a grocery store I went to today.

If they relaunch Boomerang, they need to air Old WB and MGM cartoons before they add late 1990's to 2000's CN Originals. One more rant: If U.S. Turner actually aired shows from a decade ago that nostalgic fans haven't seen in years as well as generations to come have never heard of along with newer shows that never aired on CN or Boomerang on Boomerang U.S. schedule, then that would make more sense than watching reruns of stuff that's already on modern day CN and the same stuff people have been watching RECENTLY. I mean, I'm a hardcore Looney Tunes fan, but I'm tired of watching the same 50's shorts all the time on CN in the U.S. I mean, I've never seen Curtain Razor on TV in my life, yet, they play Show Biz Bugs every other month.

I Sol heartily agree with you I actually upgraded my cable mostly get that discovery Family Channel but I also did want boomerang at the time thinking nothing of a rebrand but when I tuned in and looked at the schedule my reaction was what the f*** is going on here I was looking forward to possibly watching Flintstones Yogi Bear amongst other classics that I remember watching on that channel as a kid heck I still remember the days when a local mall in the food court hand ATV always tune in to that channel eating whatever food I just have in the food court that day I'd always pick a temple nearby the TV just so I can watch classic cartoons yes I loved the new stuff that was coming out in 2003 and 2004 like hi hi puffy ami Yumi and codename kids next door but the same time I loved classics and I still do

Geez...May as well call it Cartoon Network 2. I think Hanna Barbara cartoons, Looney Tunes, and Tom and Jerry are all great shows, but they really shouldn't take up so much time. What we really need to see is more of the old CN Cartoon Cartoons. I'm talking about Ed, Edd, N Eddy, Johnny Bravo, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Dexter's Lab, Mike Lu and Ogg, Cow and Chicken...I'm sure I'm missing many. Even some of the newer but now considered older shows like Camp lazlo and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends would be nice to see...as long as they didn't over do it with those newer ones. I honestly don't care though. I don't have cable TV and thus don't watch either Boomerang or Cartoon Network. All I want is DVDs and Blu-Rays. Yet even those have been few and far between, sadly. Josh Berman No, they seriously wouldn't rerun Children's Hospital. That show is not for kids, and they wouldn't air it on Boomerang, where the voice announcer sounds like he's less than 10 years old. If you think Boomerang would rerun Children's Hospital, then you must not be too familiar with the network.

People and networks can be pretty tricky nowadays. Not to mention trying to take a short cut to get rich quick. Everybody thought that Odyssey would be a Hallmark Henson Network and now look what it is today. Just plain Hallmark Network that has absolutely nothing to do with being family friendly at all.

In the 2010s prior to the branding, Boomerang is already dead to me (due to unnecessary schedule changes and adding shows that are too new and removing older shows). I love the old Boomerang when they aired mostly old Hanna-Barbera cartoons from the late 50s-Early 60s (and action/adventure shows from the 60s-Mid-90s) and old MGM Theatrical shorts. What I didn't like is they began airing shows that aired from the late-90s-Early 2000s and the mid-2000s, which makes me unhappy.Nowadays, I don't watch the channel anymore.

Yeah, in my first Boomerang rant, I was talking about the unnecessary schedule changes that were happening at the time. I liked shows such as Duck Dodgers, Krypto the Superdog, Baby Looney Tunes, some of the CN originals, Justice League and the Batman, and the original Pokemon airing on Boomerang, because they were good shows that were still old and aired within reason. If they aired all day, I would've been mad, but they only aired a little bit, with the rest of their schedule being classic cartoons. However, Teen Titans Go, Gumball, Chowder, Numbchucks, Grojband, etc. don't belong on Boomerang. Prior the rebrand, they were airing Gerald McBoingBoing, Mr. Men Show, Johnny Test, Ben 10: Omniverse, and the new incarnation of Pokemon on Boomerang and those all didn't belong on the channel either.

I haven't seen Boomerang in years since Comcast doesn't have it. So far I'm pretty glad I don't watch "old' cartoon channels due to timeslots and overuse in new shows like Teen Titans Go when they already clog up the main channels time before switching to Adult Swim or Nick @ Nite. I'm starting to lose a little faith in Christina Miller again, but since this was pre-planned by Snyder, it would be a waste of money to not continue with the rebrand, so that might be why Miller went through with it, but I don't know for sure. R.I.P. Boomerang, you were great while you lasted.

I don't think that Boomerang previously was popular because the aim was for a kids network and not for a nostalgia network for old classics. And so, you need to be current to get ratings and money. Would a kid want to see The Snorks or Teen Titans Go? Teen Titans Go (don't worry I dislike the show too). In the video you also said "instead of having a mix we got all crap" or something along those lines. Imagine if it was a mix. Teen Titans Go then The Jetsons then Gumball and so forth. That would not look attractive, and switching from old to classic would not be fun.

Yeah, I've pretty much given up on TV these days. KZbin, WatchCartoonsOnline, Netflix, Hulu, and Veoh are mostly my means for watching decent TV shows. My heart broke when Boom rebranded. My heart breaks whenever I see the crap they try and call Teennick and Nicktoons now. I'm just tired of these big companies not listening to their viewers. If we're out of the demographic (heck, even within the demographic) our opinions don't matter. I'm done.

how about Cartoon Network makes a new channel called "Time Machine" (Named after a fictional machine that allows you to go back in time) They would program all Classic Hanna Barbara shows from 1950 all the way up to 1998 along with all other old 2D animated CN shows and Acquired shows like Hey, Hey, Hey, It's Fat Albert, Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, The New Fat Albert Show, The Adventures of Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, Dennis The Menace, Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego?, various Dic shows etc.

I think the new logo is idiotic as well. The music is great, but I hate Teen Titans Go!. I think it is the worst show on CN. Worse, CN airs it more than any show. MonsterReview, I know about CN's downfall. I was told about it by TheUngiver. Do you keep up with CN's modern shows. I also want to know why a lot people hate Johnny Test. I have no idea what's wrong with being random. I'm very sick of CHECK it. CHECK it needs to go. Can you record shows and add them to your list? I was excited that they were airing more classics. It has gotten less bad. I actually hate TTG more than any bad CN show. I still don't seem to get enough nostalgia. Luckily there is a petition to bring our old Boomerang back on change.org. You can still play Hall of the Wild, Magnet Face and even Cheese Quest at cartoonnetwork.com. That is my opinion.
