How to fly the Zibo Mod 737 for beginners in X-Plane 11

As promised, here is the video I promised a long time ago. In this over 1 hour long video, we go hard to work to see how to plan, and execute a full flight after installation of the Zibo 737. This video can be used as a tutorial on any advanced model of the Boeing 737-800. Be it PMDG from Precision Manuals or Zibo.

Thanks for the most concise tutorial on this airplane. I am a high time ATP rated corporate Gulfstream pilot, and up to this point only flew General Aviation aircraft on X-Plane to stay current with international procedures. Recently decided to explore the Tubeliner scene and downloaded the Zibo mod. Your video made everything I've been searching and questioning come into play. I will be using this video as a permanent reference to be most proficient in the 737 800 for many hours to come. Again, I can't thank you enough.. P.S. Absolutely fantastic video! I am just learning all the controls on the Zibo 737 and was struggling to get thru the checklist. After watching this video I was able to complete everything and do a full coast-to-coast flight. The video is very concise and to the point and gives the new user just the critical info needed to get flying! Fantastic video! It would be great if you could update this video or do another for the latest version of Zibo, as some of the EFB content in here no longer matches the current version. Thanks!

This aircraft mod is actually a huge leap in comparison to the standard Boeing 737-800 by Laminar Research. Its FMC is way more advanced, more procedures are possible and it still has the annoying function to reset the yoke to neutral even when you're still giving it inputs. Since I fly offline, no subs anywhere, I like to create my own random flight plans, but with the sole purpose to understand where all that info comes from when it's created for you like in SimBrief. Another thing I found strange is that its "better pushback" simply doesn't work in my zibo. Nice tutorial, btw. Lots of information to dig dipper down the road here.

What version of Zibo mod 738 are you using? I installed the latest version, 3.44 full, with the #2 patch and it seems like the instrument panel has some issues, it's not displaying the heading at the top of the Navigation Display screen where it normally shows it, instead it shows "---", and the attitude indicator display doesn't display correctly when I do various maneuvers during the flight, it just stays static. I deleted the entire folder for the aircraft and installed version 3.40 full, and still that didn't help, I also followed the instructions just as outlined in both cases. Before I go to Zibo's Google drive and see what older versions are available, I thought I would check with you. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for a brilliant tutorial. It was so helpful for learning to use this plane. One question I do have, how did you get the unique checklist card in the cockpit? Does it come with the livery? I’m trying to swap out the standard checklist card but can’t find any mods to change it.

There is a setting in the EFB to change the checklist from basic to detailed. There isn't any mod to change it but there is a plug in called "X checklist" that can be edited to whatever you want.

Dear BoomfunkMc, Thank you for your comprehensive video. However, I do have a simple question, what model Zibo did you use, as on mine the radio controls are not "push buttons" , but normal turn buttons. There is an other problem, on programing the FMC, when trying to set up the Take Off Reference, there are no QRH figures, so I just have to guess the V1, VR and V2 figures. The CG is automatic (26.1%) but no trim factor read out. Thank you for your help.

Hi mate when I enter my fuel I don't see my fuel gauge in the plane displace screen do I have to check or uncheck some option in the Avi tablet please and after entering the payload and fuel the CG should come up but it doesn't please advice thanks

The most confusing part with AIRAC is the CORRECT PATH to specify when installing it. Its not always done for you. Most people have no idea so if your going to talk about this why skip over the installation part? You may as well show people exactly what directory to place those files in dont you think?

I have the same problem sometimes, but I think one reason may be the flaps. Sometimes when my flaps are down and I take them up, autopilot works. Its a strange glitch.

Its a feature of the real world 737 - if there is too much yoke input, or the aircraft is not trimmed, Autopilot will not engage. You need to be closesly centred to your flight director path and with little input in flight controls

Rudder pedals add a better level of immersion, but in the electronic flight bag tablet, change rudder setting to asymmetric yaw. You should at least fly with a twist joystick for rudder because using the keyboard for rudder is very difficult.

You need to follow a checklist. By default, the autopilot in the real aircraft will go into CWS or control wheel steering if the pilot bumps or puts pressure on the yoke. You may also be redlining the engines by using full throttle. The engines start to melt in the real aircraft after 3 minutes of 100% thrust.

Go to your tablet page 2 (point far right side of screen) select configure and settings/ select hardware and look for nose wheel axis select it to yaw. should be good to go after that
