It's really amazing that Train company decided to send the train to waiting passengers fully aware that there was a potential dangerous snake on board. Kinda shows where their priorities are ( unless off course the whole incident was staged for airing purpose )

The critter's name, which refers to “tree snake,” is derived from both African and Dutch words. So, yes "boomslang" has as its origins a Dutch and African word for an African snake.
