Both, though with the remakes being a way to get new content out of a game I've already beaten like 7+ times, they will be getting most of my ff7 attention for quite some time. Also there is a "Death Claw" enemy in FF7 Rebirth and Dark Claw is basically just a Death Claw reskin that can use Falcon Punch.

Extra tips: - The three hit ranged attack synergy skill Cloud gets with Red and Barret has a secret fourth and slightly more powerful shot if you press the stance button (triangle) at the end of the three hit synergy skill combo, plus it lets you quickly activate punisher mode. - You can swap characters in combat by pressing up or down on the dpad, everyone knows that, but if you press up or down on the dpad WHILE holding the block button R1, the character you control will teleport (I think the game calls it Tag Team attack) to the enemy and immediately start hitting him, so you can go crazy chaining attacks. Really useful. - You can manually trigger Cait Sith’s Moogle Kaboom ability (the one that makes his moogle swallow a bomb and explode when the moogle HP is depleted) by using the dodge dive ability, which destroys the moogle. No more waiting for enemies to destroy it, Cait Sith becomes an AOE damage beast with this! - Some of you might not have noticed this, there are different attack animations depending on when you press the stance button with Cloud to activate Punisher mode. You can counter AND perfect counter by simply pressing triangle the moment the enemy attacks, instead of R1. You can do a Helm Splitter to quickly drop flying enemies or go back to the ground with a heavy attack if you press triangle mid air during an air combo. You can quickly move behind the enemy and avoid a front hit with a fast slash by pressing triangle during the repeating slashes of the punisher mode combo. Super useful too. - Yuffie’s Foxflame synergy skill changes elements according to her current ninjutsu element, really useful to pressure enemies weak to an elemental type and break enemy parts. ✌️✌️✌️✌️

I love the Grandhorn card, but I think it's being overpraised here. There are quite a few cards that are played as replacements, with many others allowing you to "move" the power of the card you're discarding to another one in play. Also, your opponent can play these cards too, so just because it _looks_ like you took your opponent's last spot, they could drop a replacement and claim one or more of those remaining slots back for themselves. Not to mention the main downside of replacement cards, which is that they cannot be played any other way. Having too many in your deck can back you into a corner where you can't play cards on open slots and advance your board control. It's just one of many tools in a well-rounded QB deck.

as someone who grew up on the ps1 rebirth is the best version of this section of the story. you can appreciate remake but the og midgar section isnt really the most impactful memory of 7- and all the things that would be in that core memory are upgraded nicely don corneo and the surrounding section was the obvious highlight- but rebirth fully marries the compilations influence very naturally the more intimate framing of the party is greatly expounding everything good about the first disc- upgrading every area you touch, most of the events that happened greatly benifit from the upgrade in character writting and physical acting, especially near the end when they sucker punch you with some of the favs like barret and aerith getting somehow even more endearing. like barret was always my favorite og member and i was super worried the dyne stuff was gonna be difficult but these sly bastards really had me guessing what would happen- and still gave me prolly the most compelling character backstory rpgs has ever layed eyes on. like dude barret crying before the escape had me sick it had me ill i was disgusted- and one thing i never really got at shinra in the og is mad- theyre so goofy that their evils didnt even get me tilted in the og- theyre a gag hillariously finished off witht he only real threat being hojo. not in this game- this game inspires anger towards em. actual disgust. the goofy didnt fall off either theres just something about seeing scarlet in hd taking warcrimes as seriously as a day at dave and busters. it actually makes you mad. same scene almost nothing really changed about the memory barret shares with us- but the little things they added like the doctor in town getting flushed out more the rudeness of the village being far more hostile and barret tanking it- yeah the corel region was my favorite part of the original game- and here it sticks out as prolly the best themepark ass section in any rpg. i hope when the next one comes around we can get the basketball minigame along with the sub and snowboarding we can assume are a lock in,.
