the coolest time I've seen the canyon was during a lighting and thunder storm..we were above the storm and could see the lighting strikes..way cool..once we took the train out of Williams,only to see it fogged in... enjoyed the train any way....like you pooches.have three very much like them..all our dogs came to us thru adoption..would not trade for the world..

I was going to head out there this week but the forecast turned gloomy and rainy. I will keep an eye out for it to change. The south rim is only about 4.5 hrs from Vegas. Have fun. Pet the puppies for me.

You should see the Grand Canyon in all kinds of weather. It was rainy and cold and gloomy and we loved it just as much as other trips when weather was great. Try it! Thanks for watching Steve!

wish you had shown cooking dinner and how you sit eating it in the van. do you eat outside or inside? That would have been interesting for us non van people to see. I love the dogs. I live in Sedona so not far away.

That is very cool! The showers at the GC Campgrounds are open to anyone BTW. They are fairly clean and spacious with great flow and hot water. Might be a good way to end the day and go back to the boon dock for a nights sleep good and clean. Food is reasonable there too considering. It would be great to use the van to chill (or warm up) in the parking lot between hikes.

You always want to be aware of the wildlife for the wee ones... That's Dixie National Forest & there are many roads with tons of boondocking. Should you ever find yourself on the North Rim, be sure to take the road by the Ranger station & that will take you down along the rim & there are tons of spots right on the rim. You have to ignore the helicopters though

We didnt get the copters at this location. I did see them at other spots we were though and they were loud haha. We want to see the north rim too so we will keep that on our list. Thanks

wow that's some nice footage of the grand canyon. Do you think you could do a vid about the furnace in your rv? I've heard the stock ones are not very efficient. Is it adequate, does it burn too much propane, is it loud, does it run down the house batteries, etc. And have you thought of replacing it with something else like the gas fireplace that Justin Credible has. Thanks so much ....keep the vids rolling....
@TheRamblinCamperVan8 жыл бұрын
Furnace works great. Its kinda efficient.. but I think its cause its in such a small van so it only turns on every so often. And the van is well insulated. It does not drain my battery bank at all but I do have a larger bank then most people. I have heard of rvs with one battery being drained after one or two nights of running the furnace. But that sounds to me like the battery may not have a full charge before use or a small battery. But no worries at all if you have a little more battery and solar always helps. I can regain what the furnace uses over night in about 30 minutes of solar the next morning. Thanks for watching!

Looks like a great spot! How did you find out about it?
@TheRamblinCamperVan8 жыл бұрын
Freecampsites.net Someone suggested it in the comments on another campsite that had helicopters flying over constantly and said to check out the FR688. So we did and it was one of our favorite spots so far!
@NewBeginningswithBudhiandCyndi8 жыл бұрын
Do you know if it is listed on the free camping . net site. Looks awesome........thank you for sharing, we do want to make our way that way and it would be awesome to stay free.......
@TheRamblinCamperVan8 жыл бұрын
It is not listed on freecampsites.net for some reason. But I did find it there in the comments on the other 2 free spots in the area. Some guy mentioned it being better than the other spots so we checked it out and it was great.
