Lovely place for boondocking. Only 5h from my home. I will check it out! What are the reasons you chose Falken Wildpeak AT3W All Terrain tires (beside price tag) versus other tires such as General Grabber A/TX tire or the BFG KO2 ? Also did you lift your van for theses tires? :)
@oneadVANtureatatime4 жыл бұрын
We wanted an all-terrain tire that is snow rated. I checked out how people rated these and thought for the price they were rated pretty high. Also we noticed Walmart sells these so we could get warranty work or replacements anywhere around the country. They also sell these tires on Amazon. The general grabber looks like a decent tire as well for the price I just have not done as much research on it yet. I will note that availability of the warranty is important. Example is that Les Schwap tire shops are just on the west coast of the USA so that might not be very useful. 😀

Great video - the Golden State Star Party in Adin is cancelled this year. Perhaps we will visit this spot. Do you think I could get my 30' RV in there?
@oneadVANtureatatime4 жыл бұрын
I think you could get a 30-foot trailer in there. I recommend taking the camping location just as you cross the bridge on the right. Other locations may be hard to turn around. Make sure you take the Dan Ryan place road the other side of the creek with the official campground will not work for that size. We hope you enjoy the camp as much as we do. Take care.
@jimgbf4 жыл бұрын
@@oneadVANtureatatime I'd probably disconnect on the way up and explore the area without the RV attached. Is it BLM all the way in? Are there wide enough spots to leave my trailer for an hour or so on the road from Adin?
@oneadVANtureatatime4 жыл бұрын
Jim Goodenough There is a small amount of BLM but it's mostly nation forest on both sides of Ash Creek. There is not a lot of pull off spots that we noticed except the actual Ash creek campground has a large area right near the creek where you might drop of and leave it. The actual campground is way too small so we recommend going up the Dan Ryan place road. It's way nicer camping and we think it has a few good spots for a bigger rig.

Alex Burke Alex you think the same way I do 😀 We also carry a full-size ax and tow straps for that exact reason. I would love to have a winch as well. Take care and safe travels to you.

What a nice place to have grown up in, I know you had lots of fun and activities as a child. My kind of living, surrounded with lots of land. Your video was so peaceful I almost fail asleep. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.#🇺🇸ADOS

No sorry! We never stay at campgrounds. Have you looked into BLM (Bureaus of Land Management) land it’s national forest land? That is where we would stay. I bet it’s hot there right now! Be careful and wAtch for snakes 🐍

We plan to hit the road when my husband retires. I would like to know what you do to protect your dog from ticks and fleas and not getting them in your rig.
@oneadVANtureatatime4 жыл бұрын
We had a huge problem with ticks! It is a ongoing battle for sure. Fortunately, doodle is light in color and we can see ticks fairly easy.... This is what we have done that helps 1). We do daily tick checks... We sing to Roodle and give him lots of petting and extra attention during these tick checks so he loves it! 2) the ticks we're so bad in Minnesota that we called the vet and they gave Roodle a Lyme disease vaccination..... Followed by a booster shot 3 weeks later, now he only needs it annually. 3) he does get flea and tick medicine monthly. I prefer nexgard but I was unable to get a year's supply due to finances. So we are currently a topical flea and tick over-the-counter medication you can get from any vet. Now having done all this doodle still gets ticks on him from time to time so we still need to do tick checks but they are a lot less. The monthly tick medication does not stop fleas and ticks from biting him but they do kill the fleas and ticks after the bite. I did use some essential oils mixtures that I sprayed on him but I cannot tell you how effective it was? I can give you more info on this if you are interested. Also learn how to properly remove a tick if you haven't done so and have the supplies on hand, alcohol and we use tick nippers. I hope this comment helps! If you have any more questions feel free to ask...... Maybe we should do a video on this😀

You can get the fire permit online and download the pdf to your phone. Much quicker than finding a ranger station. For those who don't know: you also need the fire permit for propane stoves, so just get one, it's free and literally 5 questions (you watch a 2 min video and then answer a few questions and that's it). I think they mostly do it because you sign that you're liable for your fires.

Wow, what a fantastic video. I loved every minute of it! Seeing the homestead and mom, how very very special. What a wonderful place to grow up! Carrie with those trees, that is exactly something I would do. haha. Snow sparkles are gorgeous. Well Dave you at least got to experience a little bit of snow! Love the hair by the way. How long did it take you to cut up those trees? hehe. The drone shots and music. Excellent! Great job guys. Looking forward to the next one!

My brother Robert just gifted us a new hack saw! That folding saw is done 😂 We moved on from that camp and it just got dumped on with snow! Maybe next time will catch a big storm. I never get tired of watching the snow gently float to the ground. We hope you're having a great day and we are so happy you enjoy our channel. Stay safe and take care.
