Brits Try White Claw Hard Seltzer | VANLIFE Boondocking Sedona Arizona | Brits in America Part 12

In this USA travel vlog, we try boondocking for the first time in Sedona, Arizona! Boondocking, or dry camping, is essentially camping in your car, RV or campervan without any hookups (water, electricity etc.) We decide to try it out for the first time and it was an absolute success! Boondocking in Sedona was easier than we expected. We found 2 great boondocking spots in the public lands surrounding Sedona, met some interesting neighbors and tried White Claw Hard Seltzer for the first time. We even got to see some of the local wildlife, waking to the sight of a coyote outside our campervan in the morning. We are truly falling in love with our American van life adventure!

⭐ About Travel Beans:
Welcome to the official Travel Beans KZbin channel! On this channel, you’ll find a variety of travel and vlog content, in which you’ll see us in places like Thailand, Japan, USA, Slovenia, and more.
In 2017 we left home with just £500 in our bank account and a dream to make a sustainable travel lifestyle happen! We are now living our dream as digital nomads and want to inspire you to create your own story, whatever it may be!
After 5 years of aimless, yet enjoyable, backpacking around the world we found ourselves in New York City battling with depression. At this point, we decided to go home and confront this problem head-on. After 6 tough months at home we decided to go away again, but this time with a goal in mind.. to turn travel into a lifestyle.
Our time spent battling depression has influenced our outlook on life dramatically! We are now traveling the world in search of what makes us happy. In our vlogs, we talk openly and honestly about our travel experiences, the digital nomad life and depression. We hope our videos can help to inspire you to create a life that makes you happy!

What a nice camper van. I agree with Terese, the joy on your face Emma, at sunrise, was amazing. That is the best advertising the travel van company could hope for. Thanks for another great vlog of the Southwest US.

My father would take us down in the hills of Ohio in a tent, in the middle of nowhere. We had what we thought was a rock under the floor of the tent. In the morning it had moved, it was a box turtle! The only howling we heard was cool dogs hunting! Love you guys!

Oh Emma!! I loved the joy in your face when you opened the van doors to watch the sunrise! The music you chose for that piece was perfect. Thanks to you or Alex for the beautiful editing! Been binge-watching your vids and I have to admit that my favorites are where you're traveling around our home, Arizona. We've been to all the places in your vids more than once, but it's so refreshing seeing them through your eyes. We travel in a 42' Class A, so it's a bit more glampy, but we do still love to boondock whenever possible; the National Forests just outside of Grand Canyon park are our favorites... that they're only 3 hours from home is a big bonus. With fuel prices -- especially diesel -- going through the roof this year, we're sticking much closer to home in our travels. We have at least a half dozen trips scheduled for the rest of the year and none of them are more than 500-600 miles away. We leave for Grand Canyon to Durango to Taos to Flagstaff in a couple weeks, and that's our longest planned trip... which is nothing compared to the 5k miles we typically rack up in one trip. Truth be told, we're very much looking forward to all these shorter trips... should be a fun change of pace. Be safe out there :)

I must be out of the loop. I've never heard of White Claw. Maybe it's popular among boondockers? lol! Not surprised that you ran into some unique travelers out there. Seems like the "interesting people" you meet when traveling are often the hardest people to forget. Definitely a big part of the memories we make. We used to camp for 2 weeks in one of the national forests in Colorado. I called it roughing it... even though we were in a motor home. We did not have electricity or hookups and had to haul in water but did have a generator. Thankfully, we came to our senses and stay in hotels now. I am just not cut out for camping anymore. I am glad the both of you are enjoying your travels in the USA so much. Too bad for us if we miss out on a free video or two every now and then but totally worth it to know you are out there having fun and making even more video content to share with us later.

White Claw is pretty popular with the Keto crowd and anyone who is watching their carb intake. Black Cherry is the only one I can stand though. Never been Boondocking before. Never really used a camper. We've always been tent people. closest I got to that is In Girl scouts they taught us how to camp "Off-Grid" They took us up the mountain to an undeveloped campsite. Meaning we had to dig our own toilets. Make our own fire site and cooking area. no benches, so you had to eat sitting on the ground or standing up. Though many of us found large logs we rolled over to use as a bench until we chopped it up for firewood. We all built our own lean-tos out of branches and how to make a bed out of the leaflitter and the best place to build one in case of rain so you're not in a puddle or flood area.

My husband and I spent 4 months this summer camping all around Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and Montana. I felt like we barely scratched the surface of what there is to see! We just got back from a long weekend of mountain biking in Sedona. So beautiful!

Never heard of the White Claw. Mild alcoholic flavored drinks used to be a thing for a while a couple of decades ago, then kind of faded away. I guess from time to time some company will try to revive it. In the end beer always wins.

Yeah, 2 weeks is hardly enough time to do anything in America really. We used to go on 2 or 3 week vacations when I was growing up, and they usually involved a bit of a large loop of some sort where we didn't backtrack over the same roadway coming and going. Only one trip did we do that and that was out to Colorado and back because there was only one basic way to get there and back.

If you are visiting from abroad and your time is limited you should have just focus on Utah. 5 National parks many, many great state parks and untold acres of public lands for free, secluded boondocking. But the big tip is use Las Vegas as your entry point. From LV you're just a mornings drive to The Grand Canyon or Zion or Sequoia or Malibu or a 2 hour drive to Death Valley.

@@TravelBeans Yeah the best month to tour the Southwest is September. It is cooling off but not not cold and the kids are back in school so most of the other tourists are adults. The Grand Canyon for example is great anytime but September is the best. The weather is fine and the crowds are more than manageable. But sometimes it's better to 'just do it' than strive for perfection. Waiting to get everything just right often results in not ever going.

That Claw drink I think is only big in areas that have mostly bad booze. Ok, or young women on a diet. Otherwise, I’ll stick to gin, seltzer, and lime if I want to cut the calories. Hehe! Oh, coyotes are everywhere. My friend took a picture of one 2 days ago in San Francisco near Golden Gate Park. I’m sure they hang out in Manhattan and Central Park. Yeah this country is filled with strange people on the fringes. I’ve kept “car camping” to a minimum because of the weirdos.

I have never heard of vortices so I was curious. According to a quick google search, the majority of responses list both vortexes and vortices as correct for the plural of vortex.
@gusbert
@gusbert 4 жыл бұрын
@@mariezp Well, I will admit the word vortexes is in common usage (although it seems a bit ugly to my ear), but since vortex comes from the Latin vortex meaning eddy, the Latin plural is vortices, which, as a native English speaker, is what I was taught. But I am an old pedant, so can be safely ignored!

@@gusbert, thank you! You made my day! The entire time I was writing my post I was holding my breath and hoping it would not come across offensive. You have to be extra careful with every single word you write these days! It is indeed fantastic to actually have a conversation without it resulting in drama! If you have never been on the receiving end of one of the crapstorm instigators you have been very lucky. One of my most recent comments on a different video was directed specifically in support of another person's comment. I got attacked and then they started directly insulting me.
