I've watched hundreds upon hundreds of photography videos, especially those using flash. You've never shown in my searches till today. Enjoyed the video it was short but very informative. I found Neil Van Nekirk 5 years ago and adopted his "black foamy thing." I use the flashes small bounce card if I need to throw light forward. I also use the TT 350C to bounce flash. I've bounced with the wall 15 ft in the back and the subject 3 to 7 feet in front of me with excellent results. Try maxing out the flash zoom when bouncing it seems to add a little length to the bounce.

I got the Godox TT350F about two months ago. I've been taking photos since the mid 1970's with and without flash. I've used more brands than I have fingers on one hand. Maybe two. Anyway, it amazes me what you can do with this little flash. The one thing I've done is bought some NIMH batteries. That really improves the flash recycling. Bumping the ISO also helps. But I don't go to extremes. In summation, buying this flash was $80.00 excellently spent! I'm sure you get wonderful results with the Demb Flip-it. I use paint swatches (an incredible variety available) and Velcro. Both from HomeDepot.

You don't mention it but in another video I watched the presenter suggested that when bouncing from walls and ceiling one should zoom the flash focusing all the way out, so a narrower but stronger light. If it were I, I'd zoom and up the ISO to allow the increased sensitivity of the sensor to catch more light.

This is a great video and I am watching it for the 3rd time. My problem is shooting groups of 6-8 people in a large, open room, and walls and ceilings are far away. So, I use a bounce card similar to yours, but I still can never get it looking right. I think it's perhaps my flash compensation. Usually, I am in manual, likely f4, 3200, then adjusting light output. I have a 10 percent keeper rate. I stink at this.
@BoorayPerry2 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's gonna be the case when you can't bounce behind you. The flash just can't send the same light to the edges that it send to the middle. The best you can do is to turn the people sideways and try to make the group as small as possible. :)

Great video. All your stuff is helping me become better at taking pics. One thing about bouncing the flash and diffusing it. Don’t you usually need a wider aperture when you have a broader, less intense light source?
@BoorayPerry3 жыл бұрын
Nope! You have to remember that the amount of flash is metered by the camera. If you put a diffuser on your flash the camera knows that because it sees less light and it turns the flash up to compensate.

The only way you can soften the light is to make the light source bigger. Yes, you may list every piece of gear on your website but it's not a plain list. Because of all the links both ( Pie-Hole and AdBlock ) are filtering all of the links out. Nice idea just the way it's been implemented makes it difficult to actually seeyour gear. I did purchase the TT350F from your favorite GODOX supplier so thanks for the heads up. All the equipment links from your web page, not so much.

If room is larger or small hall, then flip down will not work.. right? but if someone holds reflector or white board behind, will it work?
@BoorayPerry2 жыл бұрын
Yes, a reflector will work but you will be surprised at how often the bounce will work in any space

@@BoorayPerry I will try Sir. Just checked and found flash not available at my region. godox v350 with almost same specifications and inbuilt battery available at double cost. But for now just exploring the new camera and then soon will move to flash. It seems so promising to use flash after I saw the video and if reflector is not so much needed and bounce from all works, its great!

What should the flash head zoom be widest or narrow for bounce flash at events
@BoorayPerry5 жыл бұрын
If you are bouncing it then I would zoom it as much as possible

Hey Booray thanks, cool stuff as always. For the rest of the world, nickle?
@BoorayPerry5 жыл бұрын
LOL... I forget that not everyone lives in America. A "nickle" is 5 cents in American money. You can't buy anything with 5 cents. :)
