Just a question. I noticed you featured a Pentax K1000 in the top corner briefly in the video. Why? I have my dads K1000 the exact one Asahi model from 1977. I’ve taken awesome pictures with that old camera and you can still use a added flash to fill at 1/60 wide open to fill at 1/3 or 1/2 burst if needed with a vivitar thyristor flash 285. No ND filter required…It is all you really need. Film or course. Why did you show it in the video please explain 😎

Hi there, nice video. Just subscribed to your channel. I feel like you about X100. But I'm a bit thorn between this one and the Nikon Z fc. I had a X100S before and I sold it. Z fc is exactly like my FM3a film camera, and have some advantages over the X100V, as the opposite is also true. Did you have the chance to try the Z fc? Or may be do a comparison video of how you felt both and which one you enjoy more...?
@BoorayPerry Жыл бұрын
I would love to do that video but I've never held one. The X100 series is a particular beast. You have to love it or else there are just good practical reasons to go with an interchangeable camera. Basically, everything in my video is something that doesn't exist on cameras like the Nikon so you have to want that stuff more than a zoom lens. Thanks for the sub! :)
@sgeorgiev Жыл бұрын
@@BoorayPerry If chose Nikon, I would only use it with a single lens (28mm 2.8 - 42mm equivalent), so it is not about the flexibility - just two equally desired "retro" looking cameras, pulling similar, but at the same time different, triggers in your aesthetics brain. :-) you know what I'm talking about. Maybe X100V + Zf (the rumored upcoming full frame version) would make more sense and justify to get both...

My first Fuji camera was the X30 which has the same style attention getting joy as the X100f I own now. Hi, sir, I’ve a sharing on how I set the focus for my X100V when doing street photography. I set the front function button to Face Detection on/off. Then I’ll set the Range Limiter to 2m (2m is my go to distance). I set the distance to 2m - 2m, means once I pressed the shutter it’ll lock in 2m, no more no less. Then if suddenly I wanna focus something far or near I’ll click on the function button to turn on Face Detection, then Range Limiter will be disabled, so I can do AF. Then turning on Face Detection with a press of the button I’m back into my 2m zone focus. I can use MF + Back Button Focus when I wanna do AF, but this method is annoying since after back focus your focus distance will change when going back to MF. So pairing Face Detection and Range Limit makes the focus setting on street more flexible.

Still have the original x100 from 20ish years ago. People asked about it all the time. It's down right beautiful and one of the original retros. For travel all my other gear would end up in the hotel room. Had a little hip pouch for the Fuji. Great for street and portraits, the intimidation factor is sooo low. Just wish the auto focus in that camera was a little better.

I feel the same way. I would like to suggest a video about flash duration. This camera with leaf shutter can use flash even at 1/4.000 s but most external flashes need more time to deploy their maximum power. Fast flashes make possible to dim the most of sunlight. Excellent videos, congratulations!

I recently took a good picture in a beach, with my wife in front of me and the sky and the waves reflecting much light after her. I used a flash but needed to increase the light on her face on Lightroom because the flash didn't have time to deploy all the power. The flash in full power needed 1/350s (Godox TT350F). The picture was taken at f7. 1, 1/2.400s, 160 ISO. So the flash only worked for 1/2.400s.

Enjoy your videos and have learned a lot from some. I've owned and loved the x100S and x100F, which I currently shoot a lot. From my point of view (recognizing everybody's needs are a bit different) the only real differentiator that caught my attention in the review was the lens, and what stuck with me was "sharper wide open." Desireable? Of course. Sure there are some other differences that others may weigh more heavily. And if it's your first x100 series camera, it's a no brainer. But are the diffs enough to ditch the F and spend the money? Not for me - at least not today anyway. Maybe the next iteration. Thanks.

The leaf shutter is exclusive to all the x100 cameras. My apologies if you didn't get that.

@@BoorayPerry @8.23 you say it's exclusive only to the 'v', that's what I got! The only reason it made a difference to me is that I haven't yet ruled out the X100F so was thinking this can't be right. Other than that, the 'v' looks an amazing camera and the weather sealing alone (with the appropriate kit!) is almost worthy of the upgradein its own right.

Let's face it, having a fixed lens isn't a reason to like a camera. I have the xt4 but I have zero desire to switch lenses. A fixed lens doesn't make someone have self control and more focus on their art. It's a choice. Just like how film doesn't force someone to slow down. I am always slow and I'm shooting fuji. It's a choice.

Everything is a choice. Sometimes people need to put restrictions on themselves to avoid giving in to temptation😁

The one thing that I like better than your camera is my black X-100V

leaf shutter is the only way to go. the rest is junk even if it's very expensive junk.

Why did a K1000 make a cameo? 😆

I grabbed a quick picture that showed the 2.0 depth of field. Just happened to be a pic of a K1000

Kind of the same sexyness as leica m6. Still m6 is unbeatable for sexiness !

Unfortunately you lost me after going to great lengths to explain how you held the X-T camera because it was so (too?) small and you would never do that with the X100V then proceeded to hold the X100V in exactly the way you said you never would.
@BoorayPerry3 жыл бұрын
Lol.. keep in mind that I was only holding it that way to show it to the camera. In real life I never hold it that way. 🤣

The Olympus Pen F is the better choice. Much more features to create your own color and monochrom settings.
