I'm thinking about my next video and can't decide if i want to do a compare/contrast with the Godox TT350 or if I want to do an inside/outside use on this flash. What do you think?

Very cool. I have the Godox and the controller is huge. ETA: My knowledge of this stuff is a few years out of date. Looks like Godox has recognized the competition and is selling a much smaller controller as of summer 2024. The new Godox doesn't completely match this unit because it's not integrated into the flash itself in the same way, but I suspect the company, Godox that is, is thinking there are a lot of people out there with a 350 who are tempted by this smaller flash but will stay in the Godox arena if they can buy a smaller controller, since the 350 still has certain advantages, as you note well here. Godox is right because I'm one of them. 😉

Thanks for the review. Can I please ask where are all the controls on the transmitter? Do you set everything up on the flash „slave“ itself? And maybe a stupid question, but still can you connect two or more flashes to the transmitter? Thanks!!

There are two small buttons on teh trans for adjusting power value but that's it. Yes, you can connect multiple flashes but I don't think you can control their power from the trans.

Hello Booray, I like your videos and like many of the same devices and gadgets you like and recommend, so following your video I purchased the new FLASH-Q M20, metal body w/extra case and accessories. After two months it arrived but shortly after one light use and test, the unit’s LCD panel went dark and stopped working. The manufacturer asked me to send it back for a replacement, which I did, but after they received it, they ignored my messages and literally disappeared. Did you experience any customer complaints with this company? Thanks

I'm so sorry to hear that. I didn't experience any problems with them but I also didn't try to send anything back.

Hi Booray ! On the X100 you must compare the X20 GN of 20 at 32mm with the TT350 GN at 35mm. Its GN of 36 is at 105mm which is totally useless with the X100. Besides a GN of 20 is plenty enough for fill-flash with the leaf shutter

Let's get real here. First I have been and still am a fan of smaller flashes, first as a convenience - less bulk, weight and portability. Secondly I think smaller flashes are a good entry way into using larger flashes. Larger flashes such as the Godox 860 series and Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fuji, Pentax top of the line flashes along with top of the line third party flashes become less intimidating to learn if one starts out with a smaller flash and learns how to use it well. The principals are the same for smaller and larger flashes, but the user interface is dumbed down on the smaller flashes. I first began my foray into small flashes with the Metz 24, I'm willing to bet you can guess the guide number on this flash. It was restricted in terms of moving the head around and all the adjustments were in camera. But I learned a lot by using that flash, especially using exposure compensation along with flash compensation to control the ambient background with the subject in front of me. Off camera usage was non-existent. I also used the ef-x8 Fuji flash, even more restricted in use and lower guide number than the Metz 24 but when ef-x8 is shot using flash compensation dialed down a bit - 1/3 to 2/3 of a stop, images came out not to bad. For a diffuser with the Metz 24 and ef-x8, I have used white paper towel over the head rubber banded on, I've used white napkins in restaurants, anything that will break up the light to reduce hard shadows. I recently got the Godox TT350f for my two Fuji cameras - X 100f and X T1 - and I love this little flash. Yes its larger than the Flash Q X20 but again lets be real, its much more functional in terms of power and support. And I think its a better entry into flash menu interface so that larger flashes are more easily understood. And there are so many used X1T's out there (newbies if you get this transmitter, watch a video on how to use it, much easier than any other way) that combining the transmitter with the Godox flash, you have a winning combo. I'm not anti Flash Q X20, I just feel the Godox flash is so much more. And you can bounce the Godox over your right shoulder (I watched your flash video) and it will have enough power.
@BoorayPerry2 жыл бұрын
The power issue is ultimately going to be the deciding factor I'm sure. I'm interested to test this flash outside and see if it has enough power to work in a bright sunlight situation because the ability to move it off camera outside is something you can't do with the godox unless you also use the transmitter which doubles the size and weight of what you carry.
