I have some doubts regarding the ketogenic diet and thyroid. I have been following the diet for a while (that was the only way a could manage my insulin, hunger, weight gain and mental health issues since my perimenopause symptoms started) but I've read in some places that keto diet can decrease your thyroid hormones and that it's not recommended if you have hypothyroidism. I don't really know if this is true, and I'd like to hear from you, who know about the real data, in one of your podcast's episodes, how the keto diet can affect thyroid hormones, and the truth or myths about that. Thank you :) And thank you for all the information you share. (By the way, I read the book and I loved it!!)

As to the question regarding nuts and fruits...I would educate people about the high oxalate content of nuts, especially almonds. When I cut out high oxalate foods my 30 year history of fibromyalgia was gone within a few months. The issue with fruits is that the high fructose content tends to motivate us to eat more, often leading to eating other sources of sweet food. That is what fructose is biochemically designed to do for us.
