Great Question! Nope, you only pay for a promotion if they clicked on the listing while it was being promoted.

Question. If im running a campaign for promoted listed. Do i need to also put in % in ad rate in my listing or does that increase my overall percentage? Thanks

Great Question! For those listings that are already being promoted in a campaign, you can manually adjust the percentage if you'd like from the listing. But, if it's already in a promoted campaign you shouldn't have to do anything.

In my experience promoted listings does not make sales it just gives extra exposure. I will never fathom ebay out, I have 100% feedback, sell the lowest priced item, gets lots of views, have good photos, descriptions but sell about 20 things a month for peanuts profit, literally a monkey's dinner

I appreciate and welcome all thoughts. However, in order to make sales you have to get exposure. More exposure generally means more sales. When I started promoting a couple of years ago my sales took off.

Terrible advice dude terrible. First of all you never bothered to explain what happens to your click though rate when you introduce Promoted Listing. Maybe you should. Second, you should have started off by telling ALL NEW USERS to at least upload their items and run everything WITHOUT any kind of promotion. Then, if you need more tracksion then and only then introduce promotions if you want to MESS up your click though rate as turning off promotions after the fact will in fact reverse the damage that has been done to your CTR after weeks if not months of removing promoted listings. Now, was that so hard to explain? Sounds to me like your pushing Promoted listings from the get go, i wonder, do you work from CrapBay oops i mean Ecrapbay?
