You know the cast iron part of the diff can be flipped In the aluminum rear housing so your drain and fill remain the right way and the vent the right way up

@@Taeleus I'm taking about the complete 3rd member the cast iron part that holds the ring and pinion you can unbolt the 10 bolts that hold it to the aluminum housing that holds the axles seals and flip it I've personally done it as a test and axles fit without issues and you can use off the shelf diff mounting options for the rear of the diff you just have to make your own front diff mount

My 2 cent on the daily would be to put the money into wago and making it more daily friendly. Ex full exhaust, ac/heat, maybe a roof rack for them bigger hauls, and some modern amenities like carplay dash/backup cam. Kyle can't wait to see the final product! Few things I noticed. 1.) Add a battery remote location kit. In case you need to jump your battery ( 4 sure hahaha ) or battery recharging posts. This way you don't have to remove your bumper each time. 2.) Make sure you have enough room between the different and the car, so there isn't any vibration or noise. 3.) PUT A DAMN CAR COVER ON THAT NSX!!!! hahaha

You really should tie the car down on the ramp when you pull that much weight out of the back especially in an FWD. you’ve also got a big weight plate out the front so it wouldn’t take much for it to tip forward. Awesome build though. Can’t wait to see it finished.

Hey Kyle here's a question for you. With the rear diff spinning in the opposite direction, the stresses on the ring and pinion are also reversed. Has there been any long term testing on this setup to determine if it eats rings and pinions excessively? Having setup hundreds of gearsets in my life, I am curious about the longevity of technically running in reverse at 800HP. Nice to see the hatch back in action!

Exactly what I thought of immediately. In the 4x4 world it’s well known not to pull someone with a strap in reverse because it’s the weak side of the gears. You can do a small tug, but a big pull and it’s gonna grenade. I bet they break this very quickly

A flipped diff, with a input rotation change is driving the ring gear on the coast side. It will definitely make more noise and heat. But not sure if it will affect you very much considering the low miles the car is driven.

I know wyatt is smart enough but make sure you re vent that diff and make sure the fluid is covering correct amount of ring and pinion and im 99% sure u’ll be driving the heel/coast side of the gear now so im sure after couple launches its gonna apple core the ring and pinion

@@NollEngineeringPerformance your correct that flipping the diff doesnt change the drive side, however the reason for flipping the diff does. running the k series transfer box on the other side, its flipping it upside down. the coast side in the transfer box is now becoming the drive side, and as a result of all this, the driveshaft will turn backwards. the driveshaft turning backwards now is driving the coast side of the rear diff, and flipping the whole diff over will make the axles turn the correct direction.

It's not really good to flip a diff like that. Your loading the backside of the teeth on the gears while driving, their not as strong that way. Plus your moving the centerline of the pinion higher out of the gear oil. You could possibly run the bearings dry. I wonder if you could get a different diff outta like a Mazda or maybe an AWD caravan or something.

@@SkatersOfTheNorth a B-series or H-series or D-series swap the motor turns the other direction because it's oriented to the driver's side of the car. "In America 😋" . The K-series sits to the passenger side so it turns backwards so your driveline rotates the opposite direction. The diff he's using is from a D-series from the factory.

You could go with an Acura TSX. It's got the k24a2, can be found with a 6-speed manual, and they're not particularly desirable and cam be found for $5-7k and last quite a while. I've got a 6-speed with over 200k on it and it's working perfectly.

Shoutout Hubcity!!! Thats crazy...the owner, Justin, did the swap in my EF when I was 15 almost 16 years old which was 15 freakin years ago which is insane to think about actually.
