Im usually not a fan of over the top styling but I have to admit that this wheel looks incredible. It hits the perfect spot in between serious and rice I think :D Would definitely love to see some more Rally content too!

12:30 if you are using screens up close positioned right behind the wheel like that you should disable the wheel in dirt rally's settings. especially since the virtual wheel has one yellow line and the real wheel has two so could be distracting/ confusing.

Light left foot braking with throttle to add angle when drifting. If you kick the ass end right you should be looking out the right window and full opposite lock. In a open area practice tight doughnuts and slowly increase radius size while maintaining max angle.
@hooviedoovie52204 жыл бұрын
a few tip for drifting if you wish to get into it more: It seems like you should initiate your drifts and try to transition a little sooner than you are currently Also, I'd recommend you focus on trying to drive and position the car mostly with your feet if that makes sense, focus on smooth and particular throttle control, and try to introduce left foot braking as soon as possible. Good luck!

Where did the gold extension come from ? It looks really good even though you won't really see it, and helps attach the horn. I can't seem to find one such anywhere online :\

Sick wheel. I would move the handbrake to the inside , closer to wheel (looked way too far). And i would highly suggest wearing gloves, since a lot of slipping of the wheel will burn your palms/fingers over longer sessions.
@mattatkins21284 жыл бұрын
Wheel looks awesome, don't be afraid to add a dab of brake to slow the back end down so your not always steering on throttle, especially if just under the band for the turbo spooling. Happy practicing

you need to play with your shifter way more than that for the drifting, it's a lot of downshift, upshift, and clutch kick, you're not supposed to use your e-brake, it's kinda like the last thing you should do if everything else didn't do it
@chrisstadler7111 Жыл бұрын
What base are you using here? I love this and want to do basically exactly this.
@raceclips4 жыл бұрын
You need to press the clutch when you use the handbrake, and also, if drift angle is decreasing, use the clutch to create more wheelspin

This wheel looks quite nice. Reminds me of the Hoonigan wheel I'm still kicking myself for not getting when it was on sale. Also, you need a proper tune. Drifting is very different that road racing when it comes to tunes and the stock ones are trash. You wouldn't wash out quite so much with a better tune. Message me if you want some info.

I have a Fanatec wheelbase (gt dd pro ) but I only have an intermidiate wheel ( podium r300 ) I’m searching for a formula wheel and a drift/rally wheel will this wheel work , also do any of you have suggestions for a handbrake that works on Fanatec that is not their handbrake ?

in dirt rally the secret sauce is simply to either blip the throttle and throw steering into corner, or same thing but with the foot brake. and for tighter turns the handbrake. if you want to avoid understeering around corners the best way is just to oversteer them instead ;-P p.s - australia is, imho, one of the harder locations in the game... edit: just realized this video is over a year old... my bad. i only found it as i was searching up aftermarket wheels for sim racing.

Nice, I've had the Mod 80 350mm Suede for a while now and I love it. It's the flat one with the two horn buttons on the spokes that I've wired into the Fanatec QR hub. Although when my Fanatec "oval" racing wheel dies I'll be grabbing one like Boosted has, they're basically the same wheel, except for the fact that the MOMO one is sexy AF! Funny thing is that here in Australia the MOMO rim is a tad more expensive than a legit Porsche rim one can buy from their local Porsche dealership. Now as long as I can live for another 150-200 years I'll be able to afford the rest of the Porsche to suit the wheel.

Any one know why there's 4 yellow markers on the wheel?
@Bob-Jenkins4 жыл бұрын
Usually, a rim like that would have a single marker on the top of the rim. Back in the day, I'd use a strip of white electrical tape, what it does is inform you where the top of the rim is so when you're sliding a lot and spinning the wheel from lock to lock the marker is easily seen in your peripheral vision. You'll instinctively know when the wheels are facing straight ahead. I'm speaking more about rally and circuit racing. I'm old enough to remember when drifting was called catching a slide or maintaining one depending on the surface you're driving on. Other than that, I believe that a wheel-like Boosted's has them on the top and bottom for mainly esthetic reasons, they'd make more sense if they were coloured from opposite wavelengths of the visible colour spectrum.
