ABOUT THIS VIDEO:
Today we’re going to listen to a real Russian dialogue (suited for beginners and intermediate learners) about a couple who is going to the restaurant. One of them thinks that they are late, and the other one is completely sure that they´re going to make it on time. This dialogue in Russian has a lot of conversational words that we, native Russian speakers, use all the time. In the video, I will give your English translation of all words and phrases from the dialogue. Keep watching if you want to learn real conversational Russian.

No, "успевать" in this particular example can´t be used. You´ll be understood if you use it but it´s not grammatically correct

It great that you provide the accent mark on the words to help with pronunciation which helps visually and auditory. I am a little confused with the time interpretation in English. Here in U.S. quarter past seven is 7:15 or one quarter of an hour. Where doe the eighth come in? Thank you. Enjoyed the video

Thanks for your helping 😊. By the way you forgot to explain some words in the dialogue, e.x.: вовремя, в любом случае. Besides, it is difficult to differ when we have to use (for example) «восми или восьмого» during conversation 😕 Russian is difficult for its suffixes. But anyway we try it🙂 and again thanks for your lessons 😇

Your'e awesome! It helps tremendously when it's presented like this format. I respond very well with listening and comprehension under this form of teaching. Wish there's more of these lessons in Russian. Have to admit there's not many around. The individual words are more meaningful when structure in a context sentence. After you explain it in detail. Easier to grasp and seem to stick in memory. I think your'e on the right track. At least for me with this method. Then maybe for others it doesn't resonate and they have to rely on different methods. Everyone is unique. They have to find what works best for them. Keep up the good work! within next few days. I will sign up for your verb conjugation course. Correct! Четверть восьмого (7:15) literally means one quarter towards eight

@@BoostYourRussian I would say it means a "quarter into the 8th hour". "A quarter to 8" is 7:45 in English. Как сказать 7:45? I know in Germany and Eastern Europe "half 8" means 7:30 but I didn't know it was the same for quarter hours.
