You are speaking my language - data, data, data! Coastal Virginia booth owner here. What sells is anything nautical, painted distressed smaller furniture (Jadeite green and white are bestsellers), roosters, brass anything, handmade pottery pieces, vintage tins and cute animal figurines. Things that have slowed way down for me - blue & white chinoiserie, ironstone and dark wooden trays.

I'm a new booth Mama in Waco Texas who's had dreams of MCM and things I like such as pottery, art prints and amazing dinnerware. Our customers told me (obliquely of course) that they don't give a rip about MCM at my mall and they want holiday, smalls and quality hard to find small antiques/pottery/collectables. This economy's tough and they're careful about what they're spending on. So....I'm resetting my booth little by little - much to the chagrin of some who like the colors and style of the booth as is and vote to leave it alone to watch and wait. But the likers aren't the buyers....

Great video. I sell a lot of books, frames, candlesticks, angels, pictures, trays and small furniture. Animal figurines do well also. I’ve been adding table linens, placemats and wicker items. They are selling very well for me.

3 months in my booth and the only two categories that sold are vintage toys and Christmas. I am hopeful that we are starting to get a pulse on what the buyers are looking for.

It takes time and it changes. If you can help out at the front desk (or visit when busy) of the mall it helps to see what shoppers are buying.

Books, books and more books. Of any genre. In any condition as long as they have that look. Also vintage postcards in fair condition. I promote the m as a little piece of history 100 years old for $1.75. My painted furniture sells fast. Mostly tables. White ironstone. Restaurant ware. Pottery.

Painted furniture...yes...I sell larger pieces before small end table. Usually buffets, china cabinets and hutches sell the best. Thank you for sharing what sells best for you.

My booth is “boho,” and I cannot keep vintage wood wall mail organizers and desk trays in stock! They sell really well.

All my items are smalls but my categories are wide...kitchen,dishwares,knotckes,toys,collectibles,books,ephemera,linens,primitives...4 booths n profits every month....knock on wood!

My booth mainly has feminine vintage elegant items and glassware which I think I'm known for. But I also love rusty distressed metal and antiques which I don't put in my booth because it doesn't fit the "theme." Most sellers say you should stick to your "theme." What do you think?

I say follow your heart. If you love all of it that is your theme. I have feminine pieces and gold and delicate. I also have rusty and chippy salvage... Your booth should reflect you. If you love it others will, too.

I have had a booth or two since 2019, I kind of fell into it. I absolutely love it and like you said I enjoy almost all aspects of it!! One of my locations I also work there PT and you would think that would help know what to focus on but no such luck. The items are so random what I do notice is that the top sales booths have either multiple locations within the mall or very inexpensive items. One seller in particular consistently has good months our styles are similar but I have not had the same level of consistency. That is my goal! Trying to not let it weigh me down. I really appreciate your videos and I just binged watched most to do with booth 101.🤗

I'm really enjoying all the information you share. I did notice this is from a year ago. I think it would be interesting to do a " follow-up" this year and compare last years " findings/stats" with this year and see if they are staying about the same or if trends are changing. Like are people still interested in hand painted furniture? Are people still being" dyi" and buying supplies?

this store i am in now for 20 years. there is no rhyme or reason for anything. Sales have been down for months. I live in Southern California. not in an affluent area. We arethe only antique mall in area of 500,000 people.

my booth shelf collapsed a few months back and my sales have never been the same since, i feel like it ruined the vibe since i couldnt get it looking how it used to look without risk of another collapse

Oh no. Maybe it is time to look at your setup and come up with a new plan or display that will allow you to have the booth display you want and be sturdy enough to not have to worry. Maybe you can add a sturdy bookcase or shelving unit?

I loved this video! I sell mostly smalls & a few mediums. Lots of figurines, jewelry, clothing, small signs, trays, vases, vintage nick nacks. I would like to add more project supplies: drawer pulls, hardware, boards, wood legs, windows, etc. Do you know the percentage of your project shop that comes from used items (excluding new paint, stencils, etc)?

Really helpful advice, thank you! I especially agree with your advice about "variety". And Smalls! My favourite and best selling smalls have been linens such as vintage tea towels, napkins etc., and ephemera of all kinds, believe it or not?! Things like vintage Christmas cards, Valentines, old Saturday Evening Posts, antique photographs and the like. Also stained glass is a big seller for me...don't have to buy those big expensive windows...even the lovely small suncatchers sell very well! Where I have goofed I think, is in some of the "lots" I have bought for resale...for example, I bought a large lot of vintage piggy banks thinking they might sell...nope...getting very tired of looking at them and I can't even seem to sell them in a discounted lot...another "lot" I thought would be a good idea was vintage "cat" teapots...some have sold, but I just bought too many of them...so...my advice? Smalls, yes! And variety, Yes, yes yes!...really working at my "barware" area right now to ensure my booth doesn't get too girly, and scare off half the population of buyers! Just bought ...yes... a lot!!... of vintage pennants from all over the world...fun to decorate with, and hopefully to sell!

@@theturnedleg I did not have luck with paper ephemera at all, but I think it was the way I displayed it. Not sure what to use to display pieces well--like sheet music, vintage ads from magazines etc. I still have my sheet music, but donated all the rest--some of the magazine ads were so cool and would've been great framed etc, but it just did not go. AND, roosters used to sell good, but lately, no farmhouse items are doing that well. I haven't figured out what style is in at the moment

I have categories like hardware, windows, salvage, paint, stencils...once I ran the numbers I lumped those items into project shop. I thought it would be easier to share data. My average monthly sales - 30% furniture (painted and antique) 30% Project Shop (supplies for projects and salvage) and 30% smalls. That is the average and 90% on sales...some months one category is slightly higher.

I have a vintage travel booth and a cottage booth at my antique mall in the Phoenix area. Books, baskets, and trunks sell consistently well for me. Also side tables, dressers, art, brass candlestick holders, fake plants, seasonal decor, and little wall shelves.
