I loved this video! It is so helpful to see the breakdown of your numbers and get an idea of what sells well in your booth. Out of all the vintage home decor I’ve ever picked up, I have not yet grabbed any candle sticks so now I’m going to be on the lookout for some. What is the brand you said you price up a little? So exciting that some of the strawberry pieces sold, I’m not surprised they flew off the shelf!

Just found your video. Suscribed because you are easy to listen to and speak with honesty. Having a picture of the item is soooo helpful especially to newcomers to having a booth. Getting thru my first month however everything I am putting in it are what I collected over the years so have to rely on videos like yours to see what is selling and ballpark figures. Thank you. Thank you so much!! I visited a ton of antique malls before I settled on this one, that’s definitely my number 1 tip. I liked a lot of the other vendor’s booths here and loved that they had a more high tech consignment system. Lots I visited just wrote things down and did math manually so I liked that this one had a barcode system! They also have a lot of events sales and are super active on social media. I actually found them because they started interacting with my Instagram account. So definitely visit a bunch of them and you’ll find one that fits 🥰 When I saw that this one had open space while I was there I spoke to the manager and they had me sign the lease same day. I hope this helps! 💕

I’m not sure if I’m keeping mine. It’s a 6x6 booth and $158 a month plus commission and Cc fees on top of that which I think should be included. We get a ton of foot traffic and are in an area known as the capital of antique stores however for example, I sold $198 last month and made $6 after all the fees. If you include my time to take the stuff there and to refurbish items I buy from thrift stores etc I’m not sure if it’s worth it anymore. I would have to sell $600 a month to cover the items I purchase. Time in. Rent. Commission etc and if I sold that much I would only profit a little less than $200 a month. I am a bit disappointed that it’s this way.

I find it interesting that they charge you rent AND commission…that store must get some pretty heavy foot traffic to justify that? Most antique malls where I’m at do either rent OR a commission

All of the ones I visited around here do the rent and commission, must be just based on what part of the country you live in. I don’t mind because they are really active on social media and have lots of events to push sales including a monthly sip and shop, where they provide free drinks to customers while they shop

You can make way more margin with rare and high end antique paintings, jewelry and Chinese porcelain.

How much are you asking on fiesta ware looking for all colors all pieces?

It depends on the age/color but base price is $5 ea for small plates, $8 for dinner plates and mugs are $8. If it’s an older color they’re a little more expensive.

What is your markup %. You took out your rent and commission, but what did the products cost you?

Like I mentioned in the video, I do my taxes on a cash basis so the item is already written off. I don’t track individual COG

I loved shopping at antique malls and thrifting & then stumbled across crazy lamp lady’s KZbin videos and they inspired me to start selling vintage home stuff. Was always a dream of mine to have a booth of my own so when I saw this antique mall had open space I signed a lease ☺️

I don’t share my cost of goods per item in these videos. Just sharing what’s selling and what it’s selling for. I talk about what I’m paying in my haul videos. I use the cash method of accounting for my business, so I don’t track line by line. I look at numbers in totals each month, expenses & income wise. I’m not a tax professional so please speak to one if you have any questions about cash vs accrual accounting.
