Az has yet to develop its own sound and rappers here have a tendency to sound too much like they are either west coast, trap, or any other genres of rap. We also need a major promotion here to create an all Az tour that will increase in revenues who will want book shows to add to the market. I lived in AZ for 12 years. They don’t blow up because 1. They don’t have an image of a rapper. Az don’t have a style tailored to them. 2. They don’t got their own lingo. Ask yourself. What someone from Phoenix sound like? You can tell when someone from NY, FL, GA, PHI. By their slang 3. All the rappers there want to talk about gang shit. While that can get you in the door it don’t get you far. 4. They don’t value hip hop like that meaning ask them the history and I’d say 90% of the people don’t know. Your goal should be to stand amongst the greats in the game. 5. Bar work ain’t up to par like that 5.
