The funniest thing about this bootleg is that it was trying to bootleg what could be considered a pretty elaborate toy. It wasn't JUST the figures that they were pushing with Sectaurs but the glove-puppet insect mounts which admittedly look cooler than the figures, especially with how big they were. So the Galaxy Hole version just gives you some recolored Galaxy Warriors and threw in some random partially transparent, TINY neon-colored bugs that are like a quarter of the size of the figure, on top of being generic bug toys that could be found as filler for a lot of toys in the 80s and 90s. It really is the 'Sectraus at home' meme. XD But you know what Sectaurs didn't have? SEXY VIDAR.

I remember Sectaurs. I don't think they sold very well because kids found them too scary-looking, even the good characters. But I do remember the commercials were entertaining because they played like an adventure series with the action figures and they'd always end on a "to be continued". Never saw how it turned out, the ads might have ended on a cliffhanger.

Thanks SUNGOLD? -- I was able to get the insect "glow" feature to work by having a lamp RIGHT on the insect, and then shut the light off while filming in a dark room. It fades super fast. It's odd that your figures were tacky feeling. Most of the Lord of Insects guys that pass through my hands have been really nice material-wise. Maybe it's the mildew or heat?

Yeah I found it odd they were both sticky like that when the 2 of them didn't come from the same place originally and I had them stored like the rest of my Galaxy Warrior type figures and none of them have felt like that. Well, except Tiger Man...

The sticky feeling might be due to plasticizer leaking, which is mainly an age problem.

I think the sticky plastic is just a thing with older figures. For example I recently got a Apocalypse Wolverine figure in package and when I took it out it was all sticky. After I washed it with soap the sticky feeling was gone.

In the case of bootlegs I think it might actually be plastic that's not cured correctly. I make my own figures with plastic resin and one time I messed up the ratio so the resin didn't cure properly and the figure is sticky forever.

Whilst much of the stickiness and 'mouldy look' issues is no doubt down to cheap materials used, in fairness it partly be down to corrosion of plastic/rubber over the years; In fairness even some genuine Masters of the Universe figures have started to suffer similar mouldy and sticky issues over the years.

remember the Lego Mario bootlegs well I bought the Mario and luigi box's and I got two legs and no torso or head in the luigi box the an in the Mario box had the rest of the luigi figure but no Mario except for the hat. WTF

They used the wrong type of paint on the Lord of Insects figures. Hard plastic is supposed to use acrylic paint. Using the wrong type can leave the figures sticky forever. I have some Chronicles of Riddick figures that are still sticky because of this, and I bought them 12 years ago.
