I got a pair of Dukes in brown full grain and Cavaliers in grey suede. I’ve had the Dukes for a couple months and wear them a lot. They are a bit clunkier looking than I expected but are extremely comfortable and great for winter wear. The Cavaliers are much sleeker and I love the look. I haven’t had much chance to wear them as they only arrived a week or so ago and I want to wait for better weather, so I can’t comment on the comfort yet. But they look fantastic.

I have a pair of arizona adobe captains and absolutely love them. I ordered a pair of matte black Legends but am seriously concerned about the initial fit. They seem very snug around my foot and the back seems to really pinch in on the back of my heel pretty badly. I'm hesitant to wear them and try to break them in because if they don't give any, I won't be able to return them. I ordered the same size as my captains, but the legends are even tough to get on my foot in the first place. I was really wanting a black boot but was trying to diversify the styling by getting a chelsea style boot. Do the 2 different styles fit differently for you?

I think one thing that isn't very commonly explored or explained is that the differences in boot lasts between the Duke and the Legend. I bought the Legend in a recommended 11D (same size as my R&R captains) and the fit on the boot was overly roomy. I then went on to swap it for a 10.5D for the Duke in their popular Dark Olive Suede and found it to be quite snug/cramped in the toe box area. A greater clarity on how these lasts differ would be great or some higher degree of fit consistency

Great review! just wondering how about sizing on the Duke? I wear 11 on sneakers but 9.5 on my Iron Rangers. The problem for me is that I have high arch so sometimes my high arch gives me pain on some models like Blundstones for example.

I was going to get a pair of these but, thanks to this review I've changed my mind. I'd like an everyday type dark brown or chocolate leather Chelsea that isn't suede. These look like they will fall apart in a year.

The sizing on the Legends are so off compared to the Captain... They fit loose and I get so much heel slip.

That's what puts me off Chelseas all together. I have a low instep and without laces I doubt I'd ever get a snug fit.

Does the DuraEVA Comfort Strip feel that much different from the legend that doesn't have it?

I have the Captains in Arizona Adobe and I sent back a pair in terracotta because I didn’t like how soft the EVA strip was. Leather midsole felt way better to me.

@@leswong7801 yeah honestly, I can’t see myself ordering any of the classic Captains, Presidents, or Dukes. I like my boot to feel like a boot. Won’t say no to the poron though, I don’t mind some comfort while they break in.

(used to wearing running shoes all the time) so i am still trying to get used to boots. the poron and eva foam will help my feet a lot to adjust for now. hopefully i adjust quickly ~_~ thanks to your experience i now have a better idea thanks so much!

Just got a pair of Legends in the mail and they are HUGE! Definitely beefier and wider than other Thursday boots which is what I wanted. Problem is they are a half size… maybe even a full size bigger than Captains and definitely a full size bigger than the Cadets. Wish they would get the sizing under control. I wear an 11 in Captains, 11.5 in Cadet and sending the Legends back for a 10.5.

I really wish TB should remove that odd piece of leather around the elastic. It looks horrible especially in the black leather. I can’t imagine how it’s saving them money, unless it allows them to use a cheaper elastic. Idk

I have the cavalier and the duke. I don’t have the legend, though. Not really my style and in Tennessee we don’t get massive snows or anything. That being said, my favorite is the duke as well. I think it could be considered the best of both worlds when comparing to the cavalier and legend
