Wolf I have a small tip for you the coconuts can be opened by rocks that are on not grabable so you don't need a small rock to open one so just use big rocks or even rock walls also you have to snap open the cucumber to eat it hope this helps you with surviving

you can spawn on other islands and you should die a few times to unlock the bag when the bag releases, a musket you can break open chests and some other items oh yea don't overfill your guns with powder also using the torch you can adventure in the night (don't kill yourself instantly as longer runs have more rewards)

You can break into the husk of a coconut by smacking it on on surfaces just using your hands, same with the actual coconut itself. This way you'll be holding both pieces and not loose any liquid and also not have to search for a rock to break it open

As a real life survivalist, I could give you some advice. But that wouldn't be as funny, would it? Alright, I'll give you one for free. Light your fire early and just make a big pile of wood for when it gets dark. A thing I want to try when I get this game is to see if a bigger brighter fire holds the beasts back better or not.

I believe that "poisonous" isn't the proper term to describe the large lizards, but rather "infectious". They look more like Komodo Dragons, which have bacteria in their saliva that are bad enough they only need to bite once and then just wait for their prey to die before devouring it. Or, if not Komodos, then they're probably Monitors.
