What I love about this is that despite all their differences in food, they have at least one thing in common. And then, these two start bonding past that one thing. They are practically opposites to each other, but exactly alike to one another. They're stubborn, they want what they want, and aren't afraid of stepping on every toe you have. He compromised on things like wanting children because he wanted her more, not immediately naming their relationship because she didn't want the pressure, taking her time with accepting his proposal; he kept from walking away entirely when things got rough between them, even when it would have been easy to quit. And she compromised by letting him in, letting herself love him enough to make her softer around the edges and enough to laugh fullheartedly at things that she never laughed about with anything else. She gave up her apartment for him, which in the long run, was her giving up living exactly how she wanted because she wanted him more. They are still, to date, one of the top three couples of Grey's Anatomy ever. Meredith and Derek could never compare.

that's what she told him. She said all we have in common is medicine. That's why she didn't want to come forward with their relationship because she knew she didn't see a future with him. She didn't want kids and if she did wanna marry him it was just to be a steppingstone to her career. Alot of women marry for money while others marry for power and for advancement in their careers. Burke was nothing more than another mentor that she was sleeping with.
