Booze being drowned out as a quarter of under 21s do not drink

More than 120 million pints of no and low-alcohol beers were drunk in 2023, and sales could rise by a further 20 million by the end of 2024, according to the British Beer and Pub Association.
Over a third of adults say they are only drinking once a month or less, and a quarter of under 21s are not drinking at all.
Sky's Ashna Hurynag went to the University of Bradford which has converted its nightclub to a sober space, with a cafe and arcade games.

I think the point is that the % of people not drinking are rising - 25% is a significant proportion of people who aren't really drinking, and it seems that that number will continue to rise, that's all. It should be seen as a good thing given that alcohol is a pretty well known health risk (alas it is only for those who overconsume, but people are generally not very good at moderation and being responsible)

I simply don't Agree with your comment the supposed amount of people who are "perhaps being honest" with a no drink policy is low, there will always be a certain percentage of people who do not turn to drink to wipe out their problems or at one point they don't but perhaps may do in later years of their life's, who's to say!? drink isn't the answer nor is taking other drugs example being many youngsters may smoke dope and avoid alcohol thinking their being clever and sensible?? But any potentially dangerous drugs aren't the answer Anyway let's put it like this If one was to get around 20% to 25% for an exam say! With the demographic change, alcohol will be banned soon as it is not permitted in a multicultural society.
