Really can't say whether this is a good or bad change. It just was a logical move by Aristocrat and Modern Times Group. @Tikondrys12 күн бұрын
That's very, very interesting. Thanks for covering this topic Boozor. I would've never thought aristocrat would just give up on plarium as a whole branch. I guess raid's revenue is pretty insignificant to his main gambling business. Thank you very much for covering this topic, I find it really fascinating. Though I'm a bit confused, does that mean plarium was sold as a "company" alongside the employees to MTG or just the property of the name and just the game - raid? I'm not very well versed in this business talk. Anyhow what that means for the game could be either good or really bad. Plarium already takes massive dumps on players heads and that could mean it will get even worse with even more aggressive monetization, if you can even imagine such a thing. Or MTG will actually improve the game (which I heavily doubt lol) and make the community really happy again. But considering that 3:19 the first thing you read is that their main goal is to make more influx of revenue for MTG, we can see where it's going. Though, it could lead to the scenario where nothing will change and plarium will continue to operate as they do now, unlikely but possible. 3:40 Also wanted to mention this - that is because raid is so scummy and manipulative, the game got their hooks deep inside those who invested money(and or time) into the game leading them into spending more money due to sunk-cost fallacy. And the players continue to be upset because they expect stuff to change, but spoiler - it won't.

WHile it should be an optimistic time, I would bet not much is gonna change. PLarium is Plarium. The folks that own it are not gonna get in the way of the folks that have made it the #1 mobile game. A lot of these comments are clueless, unless mtg go out of their way to push changes you should not expect any shift in developers or plarium management pre and post sale, plarium is still plarium. It's not that likely the prior owners were pushing decisions onto plarium considering they had no expertise in mobile games Also anyone talking about they pushed bad changes before they were sold is basically at a childs level of understanding lol. Also the recent community anger with Hydra changes etc won't be captured until this quarters results, so with December or Jan earnings
@andrewgrow571112 күн бұрын
"it cannot get any worse" perhaps this wasn't a knee-jerk deal this was a deal they've been working on for awhile what does that mean? It means when you sell a company you try to maximize the book value... you convert potentials into actuals so accounting looks as good as possible it also means that the growth lifespan curve hit a particular inflection signaling time to sell the company *awhile ago (not super recently) so idk what changes really, says MTG nearly doubles with this sale and i suppose MTG will now expect growth, which means we might see them do things to try to get new players again that's all i can think of

There is a ton of stuff that needs to be changed and from what I have been reading and seeing, it's not tough to fix most of it. So now we don't have a Casino (I know its not but damn close) running RAID. This could be cool. Aristocrat is a company that designs gambling/slot machines that you see in Casinos. That says a lot about why the changes have been so horrible in general and especially within the past 7-8 months. RAID CEO has changed hands around 10-12 months ago and im not too fond of what the last guy has done. I'm sure everyone else feels the same. The greed was running RAID into the ground.
