Almost all fragrances will come across "intense" or "overwhelming" if you smell them off the card that soon after spraying. That being said, the ones you didn't find overwhelming will probably appear weak for performance or longevity.

Just a opinion from a fellow fraghead -Pure malt is a fall & winter scent. Sweet fragrances get more sweet & pungent in heat or warmer climates. I don’t recommend pure malt in dead heat of summer. Still she gave it a 8. So I respect that.

Appreciate the info but one thing i will say and if you wear aftershaves. It is better to spray on skin as our skin is not made of paper. Hence it smells better on skin

Pure Malt is my sotd! Nice cool autumn weather. Shining but can tell it's cooling down. Going out to a local theater/restaurant combo for pizza, nachos and bread sticks. Wash it down with some root beer.

Very different. Warm cinnamon bun for angels share. Try to sample if possible for niche stuff. Just because it is so expensive. It is nice though

How has pure malt been for you in terms of ladies reactions in your experience

Most have been just middle of the road. No one has really loved it, or hated it. Chelsea tested in leather jacket video and it was 1 of 3 she didn’t want to smell again, thought it was too strong. I can’t remember what Jade thought of it, but I know it didn’t win the video. It’s expensive now that it’s discontinued. I do have a bottle if you wanted to get off me as I’m probably not going to use it again and it’s hard to get now so won’t feature it again.

Hi! I own both of them. By the fireplace is more unisex than Jazz Club. For me, ByF is the perfect ever day and every night usage, has a warm touch, a vanilla hungry power inside (if that makes sense), smokey but enchanting. Jazz Club is more manly, seductive, spicy vanilla and alcohol; it wakes you up right away. And the biggest surprise of them all, I layered them : one puff of ByF over one puff of JC...and it was pure greatness. Really can't describe the feeling. Maybe just drunk and infatuated with the new smell :D. Buy them both, I don't think you will regret them.

Nothing too similar off the top of my head. I would look into the direction of darker boozy scents if that’s the vibe. Maybe like a CH Men Prive. I know you can still find dark rebel pretty easy online and at stores like Marshall’s still.

Well, to add some information to your experiment. The way you people are smelling the fragrances. Almost all the fragrances lose their sensitivity after smelling 3-4 fragrances. that happened to me at the store almost always. pure malt is very strong and you are saying its weak. while neither o f the other ones are as good. including ch prive
