I have been living in a house I built 2 years just 4 hours north of Bangkok in a farming community/town. Been 'stuck' here since 2019...Dng Covid. All i see around me are farm fields of rice, sugar cane, and others. So a loooong video of the beaches, resorts, and islands is a very welcoming break to this quiet life up here. Keep them coming!!

Please do not shorten your videos. If anything we'd prefer longer. Having searched for a while for Thailand vlogs on KZbin we stumbled on to yours and we stopped looking. Your presentation style is to be applauded as it's all about the content and not the maker. We love seeing the notification icon and we always hope it's a SideTripLife video. Please please do not change. It works.

As always, another great video. I think your vids are the perfect length. Not too long at all. Thanks for all the effort you put into making them. They are greatly enjoyed. If and when I get back there, I have so much of your material to refer to in finding different places to visit that I missed the first 2 times I was there.

The great thing about STL's Thailand KZbin Vids is you can watch the vids again and again and again. I quite often have it on in the morning while making breakfast. Start the day with breakfast, coffee and some much needed Thailand therapy! ... Indeed I might well account for STL's entire 3.4 million views (-:

Fantastic coverage as always. One thing I havet seen there in KS is a marina. Heard they are building one - any info on that? I live in Boston and there are marinas everywhere here with both docks and slips and moorings. I wonder why that isnt the case in KS or throughout the cost there? Thanks
@SideTripLife
@SideTripLife 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks as always Dale and good point. Samui is indeed lacking a full service modern marina. There's modest Petcherat Marina in Bangrak with a few pier-side gangway berths but not a traditional marina setup. Think you can still get shore power and a fill up tho, also there's a boatyard/dry-dock nearby. Then there's various moorages about but mostly tethering Thai fishing boats. I hear one can find possibly secure an anchored buoy for min 3000 baht/month via a willing fishing boat cpn (& adding new anchored buoys is becoming prohibited, especially near coral bays) . Every couple years there's talk of opening a modern marina on Samui but this has yet to materialise. So yes, a ways to go on the marina front.

Even just before all this, in 'normal' times one could find a/c rooms under $30 and good Thai meals under $2, or rent a decent condo with pool/gym for under 10,000 baht/$300 (or. a small house) all over Thailand and will again.

I'm currently at the Sans Souci Samui resort on Chawang beach and am the only one staying here. I feel so sad for the thousands of hard working Thai people that have had their livelyhoods taken away by this covid virus. Hopefully Phuket can start "operation sandbox" soon to allow more tourism.
@SideTripLife
@SideTripLife 3 жыл бұрын
Couldn't agree more Rio4me4ever. Some are complaining the Phuket Sandbox is too restrictive (still awaiting final details though). But I say just get it going in whatever form, show that it works, then can start to relax restrictions & expand to Samui and other places. Fingers crossed! (ps: my tour of Chaweng coming next vid btw).

Sounds great! Both have amazing beaches plus Samui has all the 'home comforts' with Central Festival Mall and main shops etc. Phangan has more of a chill vibe, although full moon party 'lite' restarted last week with 700 attendees. Thankfully, on both islands one can still find quieter gems too, so spoilt for choice either way. PS thanks for watching my vids!

I did watch til the end, but you should maybe consider making shorter videos: no more than 20 minutes, I think. So many great places in Bophut that Karma resort is placed 31st out of 38 B&B (I don't know why it's classified as B&B), event though it's rated 4,5 out of 5. Which means that without your video, I would have never considered it, lost on the fourth page... Thanks for making great videos!
