on Silk Road!*
A real ancient city has been restored on an area of 17 hectares, where guests of the Silk Road Samarkand complex can get acquainted with the history and traditions of the land and people of Uzbekistan. The narrow streets are lined with shops of artists, craftsmen and carpenters. The prototypes of the pavilions in the Immortal City were the real houses and beautiful grounds described in the old books. Here you will immerse yourself in a beautiful oriental fairy tale environment - turquoise domes, mosaics on palace walls and sky-high towers.
Visitors to the Eternal City can taste national dishes of different periods and regions of the country and see authentic street performances. The Eternal City offers visitors a unique opportunity to appreciate the full diversity of the heritage of past centuries, to be at the crossroads of Parthian, Hellenistic and Islamic cultures. The author and curator of the project was the well-known contemporary artist Bobur Ismailov.
The "Eternal City" allows you to walk on the streets of not only Samarkand, but also Bukhara, Fergana, Tashkent, Khorezm, Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya, as well as Karakalpakstan without leaving the Silk Road Samarkand complex.
